Under that spoiler I went WTF? Were you trying to make him look like Mr.Horse from ren and stimpy?
No.I want G1 left alone-- besides random merchandise. I don't think a remake of the movie/cartoon would go over well. Everyone would pick it apart and complain because it wouldn't be done in a way they personally want.

I like the retro toys like the tiny Firefly and Glory but I don't think I would ever be satisfied with what Hasbro WOULD produce.
What I'd really like right now is the first two specials released in their original uncut versions. I wish they would at least put forward that much effort. I can watch RAMC on vhs and that's great for a real nostalgia kick but I worry that one day it will get damaged.
I think I'd personally only like something if they stuck with the 80s super colorful rainbow packed stuff where everything is just pretty and 'girly,' I feel like things now are like... edgier?? Toned down on the super girly cuteness, quirky looking characters that aren't perfect looking.Kind of like how they redid Starlite as a wonky kinda horse. So weird. lol. I think we'd see a bunch of threads about how Wind Whistler or Buttons or whoever is RUINED FOREVER because they were changed in a reboot. But you can't expect characters to stay exactly the same in personality, sound of voice, or appearance when something reboots. Just look at all the versions of Starscream. He looks completely different from G1 to Transformers Armada to Transformers Prime. And the Armada version isn't even a backstabber, which is usually the main trait people associate with him.In a lot of ways I do consider G4 to be a defacto reboot of G1. All of the ponies were originally based on G1 ponies, even if Applejack was the only one who squeaked through design-wise. Spike is there. It's a fantasy world full of dragons, etc. A lot of the locations were based off G1 playsets; Cloudsdale was inspired by the G1 Waterfall, for example. And Megan is absent, which makes it the perfect reboot for me, lol. That Starlite's chin reminds me of Gaston. I will say, though, that I think the designs there are much better than the previous reboot. The one where Rainbow Brite looked uncomfortably like a Barbie doll and the horses had weeeeird proportions.visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login
I think Hasbro must have lost or destroyed the uncut versions of the specials at some point. Ponyfan
Hasbro wouldn't have had the specials to destroy "back in the day". The people who bought the rights to Sunbow's work would have had them. I can't remember if Sunbow had anything to do with producing the specials or not, but I do know that the specials were included in "MLP & Friends", which is where the versions with the songs cut out come from. A couple years ago, Hasbro finally bought the rights to the Sunbow library off the previous holder.Hmm . . . If RaMC and EfC weren't by Sunbow, then maybe Hasbro only has the rights to the incomplete MLP & Friends versions?I dunno.Personally my guess is that Hasbro doesn't actually know that there's a song missing in the MLP & Friends version. Someone should ask the reps at the next MLP Fair.

PonyfanThey could do what BBC has done with destroyed episodes of Doctor Who, ask fans and television stations for their copies of the specials. There are some high quality copies floating around out there.
