I have a G4 version that came off a magazine. He's cute. I would like a G1 version some day.

I have a generation 4 BAB Spike, and I would love a Gen 1 version of him. (Gen 1 Spike was adorable... Er... Most of the time)

It was the My Little Pony magazine that tends to appear in UK newsagents/supermarkets, I don't know if it's available in other countries too. I got him at the start of January this year, so I suppose it was either the December 2016 or January 2017 issue. I bought it because I wanted Spike! Maybe you can find one on eBay?
