You are right! And no worries 

Maybe it's a mix of Gingerbread and Galaxy? Since she's a purple(ish) unicorn with red(ish) hair and eyes, and her name also starts with a G...

Could be, I don't rememeber having Galaxy as a child but that isn't to say one of my friends didn't have her, and I am sure she was in the comics

I have some drawings I made that are a little similar to yours. And we didn't really write Letters to Christkind, but we made a kind of wishlist with paper cuttings from the catalogues. I know my mom still has them somewhere, but I always forget to scan them.
I love looking at these kind of things! Nostalgic!
