Storing G4 pony comics - gifts off or on?

Halp!

I am sorting through my bedroom which currently looks like an episode of Hoarders and trying to get as many of my ponies out and on shelves as possible.

G4 pony comics - how do people store them? I have every single one (I think!). They take up so much room it's unreal. If I could take the gifts off and store them seperately (labelling them first of course) I could pop the comics onto a shelf neatly with the gifts in a tub under my bed or something. With the gifts on the comics are getting all scrumpled up (if that's not a word it should be). But I don't want to ruin them by opening them and taking the gifts off.

What does everyone else do?

That's partly why I stopped buying them! It's a problem with the comics from G2 onwards (including both runs of G3), but I cannot bring myself to remove the gifts from the front. They do store badly like that though, and a few have fallen off anyway :/

They take up So. Much. Space! I think I am going to bite the bullet and remove the gifts. As you say some fall off anyway and I would rather a G1 comic that was in nice condition with the gift (carefully) removed than a scrunched up comic with the gift still attached. So applying that principle to the G4 comics. Going to need a bevvy or two to get the courage up to do it!

All my G1 and G2 comics are in A4 sleeves (even the ones with bulkier gifts), but that never seemed to work with the later gens

All my other comics are stored the same way too Grr to G4 gift designers who don't think of how pony hoarders collectors are supposed to storethese things
