Fluttering Fairy Lights
First out is Tropical Breeze, who has volunteered to organize this year's Christmas Decorations in Ponyville. After leading a good cleanup of the streets, her team is now in the process of putting up the lights in the trees and lamp posts.
We tried to get pictures of her in full action of actually putting lights up, but as soon as we brought out the camera, Breeze's... better side came out, and she took the opportunity to have a spontaneous photoshoot with our photographer. Not what you would expect for a news article!
We are happy to report, however, that the lights are now up, and Ponyville is now full of holiday cheer!

Fun, fun, fun for the little 'uns

The driving spirit behind Ponyville's new Fun for Foals (much like Toys for Tots, as far as we can see) program is Honeysuckle, who refuses to give us her surname, but have agreed to an exclusive interview and a photograph for the magazine.

Honeysuckle, we've recently seen you in Miss Flutter Pony Universe. What made you change tracks from the glamour of a modelling contest to collecting and giving out toys to foals from poor families?
-Well, um, this is something I've been doing on the side for a long time now.
I spent last Holiday season home in Flutter Valley, where me and my family started a drive like this one, and after coming to Ponyville, I've seen so many more little baby ponies that won't have any Holidays unless we set up a program here. So I did! I grew up without Christmases, as I come from a poor neighbourhood, and I wish that I could help all the poor families here celebrate each year.

You have a quite unique style in your modelling. Can you tell us about it?
-Ummm, I take inspiration from my roots. I grew up in a rough part of Flutter Valley, in the Bramblewoods. I was part of a gang when I was younger. We did nothing illegal, but we liked standing up to the leadership and shouting songs while drinking fizzy drinks. I've simply kept part of that self in my modelling career, like my signature hairstyle and the fact that I refuse plastic surgery on my nicked ear!

Where does one donate if one would like to help your cause?
Oh! Just come by the site! We've rented a small shop in the central Ponyville Mall, where we now take donations in form of toys or bits, and will be giving out the presents later!

Pet Shelter Bake Sale!

There seems to be a trend of Ponyville's supermodels currently getting into the Holiday spirit by doing volunteer work around the town, and Morning Glory is no different than the rest!
We spotted her having put up a stall on the central square, and were swiftly lured toward it by the lovely smell of freshly baked saffron buns.
Upon closer inspection - and a short conversation - we discover she is holding a bake sale for the local animal shelter. As we munch on our saffron buns and gingerbread, she tells us how she walked in there one day to look for a puppy to adopt, but was devastated there were sp many homeless animals, many in need of veterinary care.
The shelter is run by volunteers only, and funds are often short, so Morning Glory decided to team up with the shelter, and have a bake sale to raise money for the animals.
If you are not into baked goods, you should come by anyway, as they sell some seriously good mulled wine, too!

Lily and her friends visit a local hospital to help around/cheer up some patients.

Cloud Puff is an enthusiastic volunteer at the local food bank. Every Saturday, she helps distribute bags of food for hungry ponies, bushwoolies, grundles, raptorians, dragons, and any other creature who comes through the door. The work can be difficult -- the bags are large and it often takes several ponies to push them -- but she says it's worth it. "I get a wonderful feeling knowing that I've helped someone," she says. "Plus, it's a great workout."

For the past three years, Wingsong has personally organized the collection of gowns for ponies who might not otherwise be able to afford them for the annual Dressed Like a Dream Parade. With the help of volunteers, she sorts through the donations and arranges a special night where underprivileged ponies can come and find their very own beautiful dress. "I just want to make other ponies happy," says Wingsong. "And world peace."

True to her name, Forget-Me-Not never forgets those ponies stuck in the hospital who need someone to come around and cheer them up. Twice a week she visits Ponyland General bringing fresh flowers from her garden. Her warm smile and kind spirit encourage every pony she visits. She says that she is inspired by a wonderful pony who visited her when she was a young flutter foal in the hospital recovering from a broken leg. "Forget-Me-Not always makes me smile," says Baby Ribbon. "She's the awesomest."
