Ponies you're surprised that non-collectors don't like?

Are you ever surprised by the ponies the non-collectors in your life do or don't like?  My roommate doesn't like Sugarberry because "she clashes."  Specifically, the green and red of her strawberries.  Which to me is like ??? but okay, LOL.  She says Baby Sugarberry looks better than adult Sugarberry.

She also likes Baby Glory's mane color better than adult Glory's, which blows me away because I LOVE Glory's deep purple mane.

My mom always said Mimic was such a hideous colour and couldn't understand why I picked her out, but I thought she was unique I guess lol

I've had my friends think that Tropical ponies and Rock n beats are UGLY!

I love my tropical ponies..I can see where they are coming from on the rock n beats though.

And mimmic..my mom said she was ugly..

The only thing my husband doesn't like is Twinkle Eyes. But like, it's akin to him not liking porcelain dolls. Though he thinks they are better in person! And he doesn't like Mimic's price in relation to design (he knows why she's rare/expensive. Just doesn't like her colors enough to warrant buying for me)

My coworker (whom I am not very fond of anyways) does not like the G1's but loves the G4s and thinks they have  more character. I cannot imagine not like G1 ponies. Maybe I am biased because they are what I grew up with and consider them the root and heart of MLP.

My boyfriend thinks Dancing Butterflies has a *funky* pose and the symbols all over her body look weird.

How can anyone think that DB is anything other then elegant and gorgeous is beyond me. I may be a bit biased though, the Locket pose is one of my favorites.

The DB pose is one of my favorites! Shy pony poses are amazing. Though, I could see why one wouldn't like her symbols, but for me that might be she's so yellow between her body and hair and then the colors are very jarring against it. That said, I personally love her <3

I guess. I grew up playing with her though so i never thought about it, Pink, yellow and blue remind me of easter, so i always thought she had a harmonious color scheme.

Haha! I like the sitting ponies myself but I guess I see her point. You wouldn't find a real horse sitting like that!

lol! It does happen, but I'm not sure it's very common. Horses can have really strong individual personalities and quirks, just like people or your cats and dogs!

My mom thinks Munchy is a strange pony, but I can understand why she thinks that. Hot dogs and hamburgers aren't typical cutesy things you associate with MLP!
