Aw, I know that feeling all too well.  I've never forgotten the time about three years ago that I sat outside a boot sale for AGES arguing with my parents...eventually I gave up the argument and went into the car boot, just in time to see a massive pile of G1 ponies being bought for 50p each.  What made it worse was that the buyer had already been around the entire boot sale and was just leaving, laden down with big bags of 1980s toys.  Needless to say I came away totally empty handed.  I never allowed myself to be drawn into an argument outside a car boot sale again!

I've had that happen- I was walking in and someone else was walking out with a box of ponies. I continue to convince myself that they were common g3's. Maybe I'm more sad that I didn't even think to walk up and introduce myself- maybe it was another collector that I could have traded with! That would be way more valuable than a box of ponies!

I've had this happen while thrifting.  I walk into the toy section just as someone grabs the only bag of ponies in the whole section of toys.

 It can be a little disheartening but I try to tell myself that there's always next time.

I got beaten to a really good Craigslist deal this past weekend, if that makes you feel better. Perfect Dream Castle, two other playsets and some ponies for $65...but someone got in an e-mail before me and, of course, scooped all of it. It can be super frustrating! But I hope you find some good ponies in the near future.

I once answered a Craigslist ad, over 100 G1 for $50. We had gotten to the stage where I was arranging a date for pickup... and then nothing. Not even a courtesy email saying they had decided to sell to another person. Just dead air.
I still think about that sometimes.

I've been in that place with a Craigslist ad for a lot of 50 ponies and accessories. Got the run around as I asked questions with no answer only to finally someone beat me to it apparently. I did get the reply "sorry the ponies are gone" and wanted to cry.

Those last two make me feel a bit better about mine! The seller got back to me and let me know someone else had e-mailed first, and that she would contact me if they did or did not want them. Contact evaporating sounds especially frustrating!

I once found a lot with mimic for 10 euros on our french equivalent of craigslist.I sent an email to the seller, he answered me 3 days later only to say the ponies were already sold.
