I volunteer for a rescue group and we're going to have a raffle for a custom plush Pokemon to celebrate Pokemon Go - the idea is you "rent" one of our dogs to walk while you play Pokemon and you can enter to win the plush (you don't have to walk the dogs to enter though).  I'm doing the plush, but I'm stumped on who to do!  I thought one of the original 151 would be best, and probably NOT something similar to what you could easily buy in a store, so probably not the starters or Pikachu.  Considering the Eeveelutions and legendaries for sure!  Any ideas?

Vaporeon or Espeon.  I also love Glacion, but it's newer, right?

An eeveelution would be popular! I'd most go for a flareon or vaporeon, I dislike jolteon (no tail!). I'm also a fan of any mouse types, rattata, sandshrew!, or a dratini!

Growlithe or Arcanine are both appropriate considering it's to promote dog walking. Otherwise Eevee is your best bet outside the starters/Pikachu.

If you want something more uncommon (Eevee and the Eevelutions are still incredibly easy to find as plush), Meowth is second to Pikachu with the most long term exposure (thanks to team rocket in the anime) but barely has any modern merch. Also Clefairy can be a nice nod to the fact it was originally going to be Ash's starter/the mascot of Pokemon. maybe even Togepi if you want a different edge. It's a Gen two mon, but thanks to the anime it has associations to Gen 1. And you can throw on some draw, be the first to find and own your very own togepi, or something like that.

Other random popular/known pokemon, Jigglypuff, Rhydon (first pokemon), whatever is the most common in your area, Vulpix, Psyduck, Raichu (poor thing is so neglected).

I personally say stay clear of the team legendaries unless you plan to make all three. You're excluding roughly two thirds of Go players who are on the different teams if you only make one.

The Eeveelutions can actually be found in stores pretty easily now. I'd say Dragonite, even Magikarp, Arcanine, Rapidash, Lapras, Scyther, Meowth, Jigglypuff...popular gen 1 Pokemon that we don't usually see merch for. :) Oh, and the three legendary birds!

I'd go nuts for a Vulpix plush. I also really like the Growlithe and Arcanine ideas :)

I'm saying the Eeveelutions is a good one to pick from. I have a Sylveon a member here made me that I cherish. Glaceon or Vaporeon would be other good choices.

Vulpix would be another cute one. I'd die to see a good quality Vulpix plush.

Paws at Vulpix. I too would enter for a Vulpix or a Flareon!

I'm thinking of Arcanine and Meowth, actually!  You know, since we adopt dogs and cats.  ;)  I would LOVE to do the three birds but they'd be three different patterns and I've realized I just don't have the time to develop and make them (Articuno would be pretty simple though).  :(

I have a pattern for all the Eevees and could easily adapt it to become Growlithe/Arcanine/Vulpix.  Meowth would be fairly simple too.

Yeah, the Eeveelutions are pretty easy to find in stores nowadays, as popular as they are.

I too agree with Arcanine, Meowth, Clefairy, Togepi, and Vulpix. Especially Vulpix - for how popular that pokemon is, you rarely come across official plushies for her.
Thank you so much for the adoptable, Corona! :D

This thread reminds me that I need to find my KFC Pokemon that are in storage! Somewhere I have a Vulpix, Seel, Dratini and Zubat!

My top choices for the plushy prize would be Vulpix, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Meowth, Eevee and Jigglypuff!

Lots of good suggestions already, especially for the feline and canine type Pokemon. I'm going to second Snorlax or Lapras for something unique that doesn't get much merch though. Snorlax in particular is a good chunky plush for cuddles, and rather a simple pattern.
