Hello! I'm duenia, or my real name is Aimee. I'm a 24 year old web developer from Massachusetts but currently residing in Pennsylvania.

I have two cats - Pixie who is 11 and her son Oscuro who is 9. They are my family and I love them dearly even though Pixie is a huge brat (according to my mom she's worse than a toddler). She's also smart. She can open a few different types of doors, drawers, work a light switch, and has figured out she will get my immediate attention if she starts chewing on plastic. I think I'm about as tuned to that sound as a mother to their babies cry by now. It wakes up from across the apartment when I'm dead asleep. Oscuro on the other hand is shy and polite. If I'm awake he waits for an invitation to jump up next to me. He also always comes prancing when I crouch on the floor. They're both super cuddly and I absolutely love that.

Now onto the ponies!

I started collecting ponies this year or the end of last year. I forget which. But no earlier than November. I fell in love with the show once I got Netflix and recently when I saw the Cutie Mark Magic ponies (Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer in particular) with the little charms couldn't resist. First it was just going to be those two, then all the ones with charm necklaces, then a few other Cutie Mark Magic ponies... etc... It really just kind of ballooned. Based on that obviously most of what I have right now is G4. Anything else I didn't really actively seek out. They were gifts, my brother's double McDonald toys, or freebies that came with some G4s.

Most of my collection is currently packed up because I live in a small studio apartment and there isn't nearly enough room to put them all out. The small portion that is out will be going up on some shelves once I get around to installing them. So hopefully soon. I'll have to grab pictures once that's done. I also have a few sitting on my desk at work. They make me smile when I get frustrated.

My mom likes to say she started it all because when I was little she got me one set - Danity Dove with her wedding chapel. I was maybe 6 or 7ish and I was sick so my mom through it would cheer me up. I didn't care much for the pony but for some reason I had a huge attachment to the ring and veil. l I held onto those two pieces for years until I broke the ring trying to put it on a stuffed animal as a bracelet and I have no idea where the veil went other that it was the last surviving piece. It looked really cute tied on stuffed animals heads with ribbons. I recently got a hold of the accessories for her and when I touched them I think I cried. I also sat there petting the veil. It was like having this little piece of happiness from my childhood in my hands and it was beautiful.
 
Eventually I think I will expand into some of the G2s since I've already seen that there are a few I'd like to get a hold of. And the Breezies from G3. The amount of adorable they are melts me.

And they definitely are. They do a wonderful job keep me from getting bored or lonely. They take turns sleeping on my pillow (or on me) and they're quite the little talkers.

Hi and welcome to the arena!

I got started around the same time as you:  november last year, and on G4 collectibles....then I decided to watch the show, and by then I had gotten an account here and found out I love G1s just as much and I was off and running....including G4s I have more than 200 ponies too.  I just got started on G2s though, and they are very nice too...

Right after watching the FiM pilot for the first time I was watching a Star Wars movie marathon with some youngsters (pony fans) who were reviewing before seeing the then-new star wars movie and when Luke wanted to leave to save his friends and Yoda was arguing that he wasn't ready to confront Vader and had to choose between survival and saving his friends, I said But Friendship is Magic! and everypony fell out of their chairs laughing.
