GAMERS: Electronic Entertainment Expo {E3}
« on: June 14, 2016, 05:56:07 AM »
Am I the only one following all the coverage? If not, let's talk!! E3 is an annual gaming conference that happens in California every June. All the big gaming companies join together to show the latest stuff they are working on.

EA and Bethesda had conferences on Sunday.

Microsoft, Ubisoft and Sony had conferences yesterday.

Nintendo is today at 9 pst / 12 est.

In addition to this there are lots of game demos. The best places to find those are to google 'Nintendo Treehouse' or to go to IGN or GameSpot.

Anyway, thought I'd post about this for anyone who might not know about it. :)

My husband and I watched eagerly on Sunday for some sort of Mass Effect: Andromeda update...and all we got was a short trailer with some new development footage, but like, zero gameplay and very little else.  Very disappointed that they keep teasing us - telling us we'll see more in the fall :/  I want to know more about the story and the characters, damn it!  Considering it's supposed to launch Q1 2017 (after being delayed once already), we're wondering if it'll be delayed yet again.

What they did show was beautiful...but we expected more (and I'm sure we're not alone).

My husband has been watching much of the rest.  He showed me a few trailers - the Scalebound & Re-Core ones look pretty cool.

Ooh, Nintendo's is today? I thought it was later in the week. o.o

Oh well, I'm really not too excited TBH. They'll show Zelda and that's it? Zelda is exciting, but it's hard to get hyped when they said they would show nothing else. =/

I watched Sony's conference last night. I have a PS2 and a PS3, but I'll admit there were a few games shown that have me wanting a PS4. Specifically The Last Guardian and... Horizon...uh...it was Horizon something. Those games look GORGEOUS! :dribble:

As much as I love Nintendo, I'm not too excited for today. They're just showing that Zelda game that they've been showing for the last two E3's, right? The one they keep changing the release for because I'm guessing now they want it to be on the NX as well as the Wii U? Actually, it would be nice to get more info on the NX! And the new gen of Pokémon too. But if it's just Zelda (which I'm not super obsessed with like a lot of people) then...bleh.

The new Zelda kind of blew my mind. It looks really neat!

The new Pokemon games also look excellent, but to fill their E3 conference with showing us live playing of it just really didn't do anything for me. Like, I want to play Pokemon, not watch it! There are some neat changes, but still...I wanted to see some more Zelda.

EDIT: Oh, they're taking a break and are going to show more Zelda! I didn't know because I had to run to the bathroom thinking I wasn't really going to miss much in that time... Lol. >.<

im intrigued by the new Zelda game.  It sort of feels like a clash of other Zelda games then something like assasins creed.

The new Zelda is most certainly not something I need to have releasing when I'm in the middle of school again. Dear lord! D:

That game has really blown my mind. It's quite a bit different from standard Zelda's... As much as I love the OOT formula, it's nice to have something different.

I missed the pokemon bit on my way to work but I've been listening to the Zelda update! It does look very pretty! I'm hoping there will be more announcements tomorrow!

Very cool! It sounds a lot like pax prime (gaming convention in Seattle).  I finally got to go to the last one and it was pretty awesome testing out all the new games...

I regret not standing in line for the VR- it looked pretty cool but I was with a friend who had no interest...

I've been glued to YouTube watching E3 coverage! :D There is soooo much I'm excited about! I've been doing a lot of "live tweeting" as I watch, so let me go back and see what I'm most excited about... (yes, there's so much exciting stuff I don't even remember it all!).

Okay, going backwards... obviously I'm extremely excited about the new Zelda game! I mean, there's so much going on that the Zelda series has been needing forever (like the ability to climb). The Pokemon gameplay made me decide to go ahead and pre-order Pokemon Sun (before I was thinking that I might just wait a little while before getting it).

Resident Evil VII looks like it will be so much scarier than the previous couple of games in the series! This is a big plus! And they really need that -- I mean, when Tomb Raider games become scarier than Resident Evil games, you know something isn't right.

And Horizon! It looks so good! I knew it was a game that was coming out that I might be interested in, but after seeing gameplay I'm hooked! I probably won't pre-order that one, though, just because I have soooo many games pre-ordered already.

I also tweeted: "New Mass Effect game... don't know what to think about the information I'm getting here..." So yeah. Obviously I'm going to get the next Mass Effect, but I haven't seen anything detailed enough to have a serious opinion yet.

Oh! And VR. It's a serious deal. I know I'll be getting the Playstation VR, and I also know it will make me sick. I'll find a way to deal with that! But if Fallout is going to be playable on VR, I'm going to be all over that! I suspect I'll be playing VR games in a spinning office chair. ;)

Oh, and I am still excited for Final Fantasy XV! I don't love the main character so far, but I won't know anything for sure until I actually get the game.

Sorry for the huge wall of text -- like I said, there's so much I'm excited about!

Loving it so far!

I love Zelda but I don't really play the games, might need to get this new one. I've been watching the livestream on youtube with my avid zelda fangirl bff and she's losing her mind.

I'm really excited about Pokemon and The Last Guardian which finally gets a release date!!
