No Country Ponies
« on: April 14, 2016, 01:40:34 PM »
Hi, full of questions lately.  How can you tell where a no country pony was made?

I should know this, but I'm drawing a blank.  For instance, I use the Nirvana gallery to id a lot of ponies I am looking at/for, etc.
But on the no country ponies, how do we know where they are from specifically, such as Spain vs. Greece, etc.

I think most no countries are Spanish.

Tak, yes, I do know that, but I know some are not, like Greece.  So how do you know if your no country lemondrop is greece or spain?  etc.

It is all in the details, such as the eye colour, number of eye lashes, hair length, how the hair is rooted, the tail washer, hair texture, body colour and texture, scent, whether the pony has blush or not, other hoof marks and so on.

Greek Lemondrop has brown eyes and no hoof marks and a double row of plugs in her forelock. Spain NC Lemondrop has a date and Pat Pend stamp under one hoof, light lilac eyes and a single single row of plugs in her forelock.

I second pinkkittywinks, but in the beginning, I found this site quite helpful, too.
Picked Butterscotch as an example --> http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/G1_Butterscotch

Personally, I go after their "character", I feel that they really have something very subtle of the countries they were made in.
Also, many have that special something like Spanish often look very soft and kind, wouldn't know how to exlain otherwise.

Are no country Loving Family ponies Spanish too? I have Apple Delight and Sweet Celebrations. They were bought second hand in England in the 90s, so I'm not sure where they came from originally.

Yes, they are.
But there's only the "parents" from Spain for each set

Tak: only the Rainbow and Pegasus and unicorn Greeks have either the Alpha or Beta symbol under their hoof ;) It isn't quite correct to say that a majority of NC ponies are Spanish since the following countries did not put a country stamp under the ponies hoof: Argentina, Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Venezuela (there may be another country I have missed off the list as hoof marks were not consistent with some countries)

Giggles: Which pony is it? unless the pony is Collectors Pose Lily Ledy (they have a hoof stamp) all the Mexican ponies are lacking ANY sort of hoof mark.

Shaz: The Loving Family adults were manufactured in Spain (they have no country hoof marks), China and Hong Kong. All these versions can be found throughout the UK and Europe. The Spain version were part of the standard release and are commonly found in the UK.

Thanks pinkkittywinks for the correction. I mostly only have U.S.ponies. I posted on this thread in hopes of learning more.

Thank you giggles for starting this thread :)

Okay, so maybe I'll just list them and you guys can help with what you can? lol, thank you so much in advance!

Ok, so her lemondrop is Spain it sounds like, purple eyes lol.

She has two NC Cherries Jubilee, one with flat feet that is an odd color, cherries completely faded to an off white color kinda? Green eyes.  Then there's one with a more normal color body, eyes are a more blue green color, concave feet and a date on one of the feet.

No country wedding pony that has a date

Baby blossom in pegasus form with no country markings, blush is nearly under her face lol, I think this one is Mexican?

No Country Paradise?  Blue body, palm trees, red moon, date on feet

NC Bowtie, shy pose, flat feet

NC Butterscotch, hair seems different yellow than typical butterscotch, date on front right foot, green eyes, lashes and stuff look a little diff to me than normal, double row forelock (greek?)

NC purple baby blossom pegasus, yellow hair, this is peru right?

NC yellow baby medley, blue hair, thin green symbols, I think this is peru also?

NC princess pony, yellow, pink hair, pink medallion, sorry, can't remember her name

NC I think gusty, symbols are very faded but, white body, green hair
