Have you ever thrown a pony in the trash?

Never-  I would be too afraid of hurting their feelings.  (Damn that Brave Little Toaster movie!)  Worst case scenario- they get donated to the thrift store (once I clean them up so they won't get trashed by them!)

This. Or carbooted. Or passed on to someone who makes customs and can use them as bait. Or, as a final resort, given to my sister's pony rescue sanctuary (although that less these days).

Won't ever put a pony in the bin.

I've never had one that was so manky and gross that I thought it was beyond saving. Even if I had one that disgusting, I think I'd feel too horrible to bin it.

Nope. I even found one that was run over and missing a leg (McDs Fluttershy)... she still rides around in my car.

N-- oh wait.  Yes, I once threw away a terrible-condition BBE Sleepy Pie.  I had about a dozen of them in bait lots I was trying to sell, but I felt this one was beyond even customisation.  I actually felt kinda guilty to inflict it on someone it was that awful!

Aw, applejackbunny    it's okay!! we still love you!  I think all of us (especially those of us who had them as kids) have done something regrettable to a pony at some point in our lives *cough cut hair in my case, cough*.  Hey, you never know, in 500 years an archaeologist might uncover that very same WigWam on an expedition and begin to study the ancient pony collectors

if there was black mold or something harmful inside i would, but at this point, i have always rehomed them or customized them if they are vintage ponies, but.... i did throw an peachy anniversary pony away that my mom let the dog chew on while i was gone for a week.... no hope for that poor filly.


heck i can't even throw out pony tails or hair when i'm dehairing it for a custom... always feel so guilty...

LOL I can't throw hair away either! And if I'm rehairing one of my childhood ponies, I'll even put the original tail back inside the body just so they stay together

I threw away a couple of flocked fakies from my childhood because they were so filthy and the hair was so thin on them. I have never thrown away an actual pony, but I did toss the cowboy hat that originally went to my childhood Tex years back because it had some kind of dried gunk all over it that could not be removed no matter what I tried. I replaced it with another Tex hat

Um yes.... I didn't know how to clean my Watercolour Baby Sea Pony when i was like 10, 11 years old.  Wanted to think of myself as a collector... but did not know how to restore toys.  Also didn't know about age spots.... so yes, I threw her out.

a few years ago, I got a large lot of nirvana ponies.. I was cleaning them and I think my italian lickety split fell in the garbage can, and I didn't notice.. I did replace her since, but I couldn't believe how careless I was.. I was in a rush to leave for a vacation. Went to Israel for 12 days.. In better news, I DID find a Wig Wam at the Flea Market there on the last day of the trip.. Maybe the one that was thrown away ended up in Israel?

  I also have the absolutely disheveled hair of my first childhood-Pony (was a fakie and gift from my grandmother. She could not understand the difference between fakie and original. ) The only fakie that I still have today, because of the emotional value. I rehaired it and have retained the original hair anyway.  All other Fakies were given away to other children.

The only original MLP, which I had to throw was a early custom (from a baity newborn). I had used a spray paint to cover stains, that was terribly tacky after a few days. Nevertheless, I was sorry.

I've never had one yet that wasn't salvageable, so I guess I'm lucky. I have donated and rehomed as well as restored ponies, but I guess if I had one beyond even customization, I might bin her. I'd feel horrible doing it though! It would be a last resort, and only after I stripped her of anything salvageable. I'd feel so guilty doing it though, poor pony!
