Cleaning G1 merch made of fabric

I guys, I was wondering what's the best way to clean those really dirty bags and such from the G1 era?

Like the pony purses (and other bags made from the same canvas-y material) and even the lace from the baby buggy. Would it be safe to but them in a lingerie bag and then on a gentle wash in the washing machine or would you clean them by hand? I have some with really bad dirt and grime but I think they'll clean up nice with minor stains but I don't know what the best method would be.

I've hand washed lace and some pony wear in cool water bucket with a little oxy clean and gentle laundry soap (no dyes or perfumes). Seemed okay!  ^.^ I'd do the same thing if I had a purse to wash.

Makes sense for the lace, I was thinking of hand washing it anyway but I wasn't so sure about the purses as they're made a tougher material.

Test colours with a wet cotton swab, if your swab ends up with colour, not a good idea to continue. some items are not colourfast and can bleed like crazy. red jumper from pocket pals is one, and sleepy pies purse is another.

When needed I handwash items in zero or woolite, depending on the piece- oxy. rinse well. I am conservative with soap- a little can go a long way.
