Always check your recycling - An almost OOPS...
« on: February 02, 2016, 03:57:59 AM »
I moved house in December! This meant I finally got to have ALL my collection in one place at one time! Unpacking was a nightmare and took ages, soon becoming a blur of paper, bubble wrap and boxes.

Yesterday I went to take these spare boxes and packaging out to another friend who is moving house. I hastily bundled the crumpled newsprint (clean/plain) into bags for recycling. But wait... That one bundle of newsprint feels awfully... solid...

WORST COLLECTOR MOMENT EVER. I nearly Recyled SS Magic Star - or at least nearly gave her to a friend. And I feel particularly bad that I hadn't spotted she wasn't out with the rest of mine!

So, what's your worst 'nearly oops' moment?

I was doing DD's laundry and didn't realize Scrumptious was in the basket. She got a very thorough bath and it was very lucky that her flocking didn't get ruined. Thankfully I saw her when I was putting clothes in the dryer  and I dried up her insides . :(

After painstakingly taping and painting Cherry Treats for her sun bathing treatment, putting her out on the window for a day, only to do my homework and realize she gets sunburned instead of whiter  -_-
Luckily she wasn't out there too long!

I one time found my Paradise at the bottom of my hamper while doing my laundry.  She stands next to it, and falls over easily.

I wonder if ponies shrink in the wash?

This isn't so much me but something that my sister did when we were kids.

I was at school and she was about three, she borrowed some of my ponies to take to a friend's house (with my permission).

So they were playing with them in the bathroom. And then...somehow...

Yoyo ended up down the toilet.

It was, fortunately, a clean toilet in a very clean and pristine Japanese house.

Sister completely freaked out, because obviously, Yoyo was my pony, and one of my favourites at the time.

Mother disinfected Yoyo, just to be safe. And she told me the story when I came home from school.

But Yoyo survived, and really, it's all very funny.

But Yoyo really wasn't designed for swimming...

How scary! I don't think I have any stories like these, but what if I did lose a pony at some point and just haven't noticed yet?!

Good stories!

My ponies have never been in the wash, but I did find my childhood Raincurl in a bag of fabric scraps that I intended to donate.  Didn't know she was there (I thought she was in a box someplace,) so I was very surprised to find her.

AUGH!  I hope something like that never happens to any of my ponies!

Oh dear, SAME! I have no stories like this because I have always been crazy hardcore carefull what I toss in the garbage. We always check the removable clear compartment of the vaccume that keeps all the dust and stuff in it- just the off chance I sucked in an earring or barrete in. Before laundry we check baskets for anything because I get paranoid. My ferret had taken a tsum tsum and hid it in the Xmas tree but that is my wildest story I can think of loosing something! Ponies stay IN the bedroom and do not leave except for spa days. Accessories go in a giant zip lock baggie. Clothes are seperated in three different baskets by socks/underpants, towels, and shorts/pants. Our wedding rings and jewelry we have a designated safe spot for on our dresser in a deep dish tray and necklaces go on my jewlery Celestia if we clean or shower. I lost so many things as I kid to wheresince teenhood  I am crazy OCD about where my stuff is being placed.

I'm so glad the OP found her pony OMG that would have terrorized the living daylight out of me!

I'm glad you got her out!

I don't really have an 'almost' oops moment just an oops moment... When I was younger I took G1 AppleJack with me to a friend's house.. Accidentally left her there. I called my friend a lot and asked if she could take her to school and give her to me but some how my pony 'magically' disappeared from where I left her. They don't have dogs or cats. She's also an only child. So, because we were moving soon and I wanted my pony.. I called her EVERYDAY, her mom usually answered and said the same thing 'I'll have her look for it' and I never got her back. On the last day of school  she said "I don't have your stupid horse. You probably wouldn't want it back anyways." Then she rolled her eyes and her friend insulted me with the usual.

Hmm....
I can't think of anything off the top of my head.. and I don't remember having an almost OOPS as a kid.. I probably did have several OOPS moments back in the day though, and that's why some of my childhood ponies are missing..
