Gifting Yourself On Christmas?

Well, I know I'm getting nothing from anyone else for Christmas so yes, I was going to get myself a POP pony at Tesco tonight.  But I couldn't even afford £4.00 having bought gifts for my parents earlier today.   I tried to console myself by saying "well, they'll probably be reduced after Christmas" but the fact is I still wouldn't have any money even if they were.  I've had no gifts from my family since 2010 but this is the first Christmas I've not even been able to afford a treat for myself.  I guess I shouldn't have even been thinking about it when my only pair of jeans have a big hole in them and I have no coat!  Sick of having no income.

Yep, I treated myself to a pony for the holidays, mostly because she was cheap and I've wanted her for ages. Also gifting in my family is literally between me and my dad now; we usually just exchange a book/CD, some cheeky booze and some posh chocolate. It's nice and simple and I'm not skint after getting the prezzies in, so I figure it wouldn't hurt to get something nice for myself. That said, I like to do something to justify that treat, so it's more of a reward really.

i got myself stuff for christmas, only sister got me something and that was Munchy, and then the nephew got us something from 'Santa's Workshop" they have at school for the little kids.

Yes! I bought myself a G1 book and tape nip. It's The Night Before Christmas so I just had to get it!

Yep, because my father hasn't gifted me anything in years. And my made family is waiting to do a full Christmas dinner/celebration (we already exchanged gifts last week) till mid January. Due to work schedules, I picked up a few things for myself and wrapped them. A book and a blind bag Star Wars dog tag. No shame in my game.

With family, we always pick out exactly what we're getting so there's no surprises unless you give a few options or don't decide. On top of that boyfriend's mom had him and I pick out half? most? (not really sure since she apparently added more) of the stocking stuffers, so we picked out our own stuff for that. When I was grabbing a few things for her and the boyfriend I grabbed myself a sheet of stickers, so I guess that counts the most. I wrapped it up and shoved it in my stocking, lol.

I also bought a mini Lalaloopsy for myself, but I've had that gift card sitting in my bag for weeks. I don't know if that counts or not but I picked it up while buying presents so maybe? But I opened her the day I got her, on the 23rd, so maybe not.

I bought myself two ponies, the first I ever bought for myself for christmas I think <3 (Greek Minty and Mexican Butterscotch).
Sadly the whole buying thing on these two went not too well... I bought and payed with paypal on dec. 3rd and had to open a claim in the end to get my ponies from the seller. His excuse was that he had to work so he could not post an parcels When they arrived, Butterscotch was rattling (and had a loose head) and Minty had a smear on her symbols, a mane trim and holes in her ears *sigh*
Well, I still love them <3 My christmas present my myself to me lol.

Einhornbaby, I'm so sorry to hear you had such a horrible eBay experience. I've had a couple, but those were ages ago. You did remind me that I forgot the pony gift I got myself since I did get it early. When I ordered ponies for the swaps I was in this holiday season, I got myself a beautiful Glittering Gem. She's hanging out with other ponies under my mini tree.

I don't buy myself Christmas gifts unless you count the stuff I buy with money people give me. I actually tend to prefer cash really. I have limited space and when family and friends send me things, it's often things I already have. And if they send money, I can group it together and buy things I want that I cant usually afford easily or have to save for.

So I actually did buy myself something this year, but it's more for my college grades than a christmas gift. I bought myself a nice G1 Glory in pretty great conditon. I'm not a big spender but I have always wanted her. I also bought myself a large coffee (something I try to refrain from doing) from this amazing coffee chain near me. It's honestly more of a dessert in a cup than a coffee, and they are pricey, but it was worth it!

Not me.  I kind of just buy things for myself when I want/have the money.  Seems a bit weird to do it specifically for Christmas.  I also have this thing where the surprise is almost as good (and sometimes better) than the gift. So knowing what I'd bought, might as well just use it right away.  I suppose another part of it, I give so many gifts to others this time of the year, I honestly have no idea where I'd even get the spare money to buy myself something.

I'm not really sure, our local Coles always has a % off new hardcovers, but I'm not sure for the whole store. When we were there it was the end of November and they had one of those "spend $50 and save 10%" things...between that and my plum rewards, we couldn't resist.
