We use roundabout here, too. I think a lot of these words don't just differ from country to country, but regions within countries as well. :P

I have no idea what marra is.

Oooh, how about elevator? What do you all call elevators?

In Hungary, we call them 'Viziló', which would translate to 'Waterhorse' literally, however, what in english is 'seahorse', in hungarian it's actually called 'vizicsikó', that'd translate to 'waterpony'.

I love that you guys call it a lift because that's literally what it does.

That would be a sweater.

I know what that is, but I don't think I've ever heard it called anything in particular around here. At least not that I can think of off the top of my head.

Is a strip of grass between the sidewalk and road

I *literally* don't know what else to call it, but I've heard tree lawn before.

Actually it is called 河马 he ma which is river horse. Same as in German Flusspferd.

And I totally misunderstood how you want to play that game.

Here in England it's known as a grass verge, a green verge or just "verge". But how many people would actually know that I don't know :D

In Australia it's called a median strip.

I have a weird one... What do you call the active ingredient in the pain drug, Tylenol/calpol/panadol?

Oops. My husband sent me something the other day about many animals in Chinese names I guess I got it wrong.

Median strip (or median) is in-between two roads on a highway

Generic term for Tylenol here is acetemetaphine (oh my, I thought generic terms were universal....)

So did I.  Until I moved to America in 2012 and asked for paracetamol and only got a blank stare in return.  Glad to know it's also paracetamol in the UK.  Moving there at the start of next year, and I was a little worried I was going to have to learn a new word for it again.  Haha.

Ok, so what do you call these?
