Joel was doing a similar project for a while called "Cinematic Titanic". I saw a live show in Minneapolis a few years ago. And the other guy, Mike, does RiffTrax. It's good stuff.

Oh yes, there are plenty of movies being made that are rife for riffing. Birdemic, The Room any movie on Netflix that contains the word "shark" in the title. 
Not to mention plenty of movies they may have missed in their original run.
