Dedicated restoration board?
« on: November 01, 2015, 01:49:35 PM »
So I was thinking today - how possible would it be to have a dedicated board just for posts about cleaning up/restoring ponies, playsets, and accessories? Like either a separate board or a child board within the Corral?

I'm not sure if this is something that has been considered or discussed before, but I think it would be great to be able to have those types of posts readily accessible, instead of having to search and hope you find relevant posts in the results

Yes, I do have that bookmarked, but people here are always experimenting and doing various restoration methods, that I felt like it might be useful to have that all in one place. For me, the Arena IS one of those great websites for that sort of thing.  ;)

I second that this is a good idea!  As it is, I usually post restoration questions in the Customs board.  It would be nice to have a dedicated board where we could compare methods and share tips.

A restoration sub-board would be great!  but I know the mods like it all mixed in the corral.

It has been brought up before, and has been discussed, but really it would not be a board that would get much attention. And the more we split up into separate forums, the more the mod team has to manage and keep track of.

Being in the main corral and customs forums, the threads are seen by lots of people so they get responses, and others learn things by reading. If it was separate, people would only use it when they need the help, others would not see to respond to the threads as much. And being "out of sight, out of mind", we'd get lots of repeat threads.

That's a shame, but understandable, I guess. I thought about that, but figured since we have boards for like...the Fair that are pretty low traffic, I thought it would be worth mentioning.  ^.^

The Fair board is something we host for the Fair...hence its own dedicate space :)

Suggestions are always welcome but as Kiwi says creating a board just for restorations would be too slow and threads would not get the same level of attention as they do here or in Customs.
