PC: Starshine
« on: October 25, 2015, 04:48:06 AM »
Hi! :D

How much should I expect to pay for a near mint, snow white Starshine? I'm looking for her as a gift for my husband. I thought she was kind of common, so the prices I saw on eBay seemed rather high to me?

Thanks! :rainbow:

I'd say she goes rather high. She's common, but prone to symbol rust. And white ponies often tend to yellow over time. That's make her more uncommon in nm condition.

I believe I paid like $15 or a little more (can't really remember) for mine in that condition. But that was a couple of years ago so I don't know if prices have changed since.

me too. i would wait and watch, see if someone here is got a cheaper one. i got a mint white one for about 10 but that was a few years back....maybe i was just lucky.
there are 2 types of ss, one with a slightly softer body prone to cancer/age spots. the one with a slightly harder body is prone to yellowing but that's ok they are easily enough to sun-fade back to a nice white.  i didn't realize about the symbol rust though, i better keep a close eye on mine.

$7-8 - I would not pay any more than that (and I would prefer to be $6). She is popular but one of the more common ponies. Be careful you are not judging price by BIN prices as they do tend to be higher than a pony would normally sell for.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

What are BIN prices?

I have the latter version..she has got a cute pinkish hue to her, plus the typical symbol rust but I don't mind..  which year is which? I know they made her two different times, I always was curious which one mine was..

Ah, thanks.   :good:  I can usually figure out most acronyms, even if I'm not familiar with them, but I got stuck on that one.  :)
