Leave factory curl alone? (Added photo)

Here is my Sugar Apple straight out of the storage box.  The curl in her hair is all original.

Would you leave it alone?  Dampen it to tame flyaways?  Or wash, condition, and recurl?

Here's another photo with different lighting, so you can see the frizz a bit more.

That's up to you. I'd probably wash and restyle just because of t looks a little dry and frizzy but that's just me.

I would try to save it...It's so hard to still find factory curl, and it won't look the same if you recurl it. If it seems like it's gathered dirt/dust and gotten dull, I would maybe try to gently wash it with cool water and a little shampoo/conditioner - as in, keep it in your hand so the weight of the water doesn't stretch the curls out, very gently scrunch it, and try to smooth it back into place without pulling/combing the curls, and gently squeeze/pat the excess water out and then let it dry. True, at this point in time, factory curl is almost never going to look at smooth as if you recurl it, but to me it's worth saving most of the time when I can, and yours is pretty gorgeous.

I'd use a spray bottle and mist her hair enough to gently get those flyaways under control, but that's it. :)

She looks pretty darn good to me, if it were mine I'd probably leave her be. But lunar_scythe's suggestion is a good one.

I'd do my best to keep it in tact. It's really cute.

I would leave her as she is - even with restyling its very hard to get something exactly like the original.

I wouldn't mess with them, especially if you're not sure what you're doing. She really doesn't look that bad to me.

I would very carefully tidy them; but, for the most part, I'd leave them alone! They look pretty darned perfect if you ask me.

To tidy them, I would sprtiz my hands with water and carefully wrap the loose strands back into place. A toothbrush could also be handy for reforming the curls and putting everything back into a nice, neat order. Stick your little finger into the curl and use the toothbrush around your finger to help everything stay in place and not stretch out.

She's a beautiful pony and you're so lucky to have one with original curl AND her barrette!

I have her comb, too.  Obviously, I never used it on her.   :good:

I'd probably try to tidy up the fly-aways, maybe comb out those strands, use a little conditioner and wrap them around to match the curl.
I made the mistake of washing a beautiful mail-order Mummy pony and her original curl dropped   >_<  was so sad!!
