I am surprised to see this! When I was over there a couple years ago I found NO pony whatsoever! Definitely going to stop in the next time I'm in Japan... though the toast and meal sets are pretty pricey!

Eh.
It's a shame it isn't as cute as other themed cafes I've seen pictures of.

Yeah, it looks like they took a regular cafe, slapped a few pony stickers and called it themed. What they do have is cute, though. I like the fact that it's g1.

That Kayo Horaguchi mural is phenomenal! Rainbow Power really lends itself well to the clutter-cute decora aesthetic.  ^.^

Not sure about the menu -- Pork and orange cheese pancake? Chicken and carrot sandwich? Am I reading that right? -- but I love the retro-style merchandise. If I were anywhere near Harajuku, I would definitely go have a strawberry soda and pick up those keychains.

So cute!  Agree G1 style is way more Harajuku style than G4 (which really isn't)

It would be MUCH cooler though if they filled the walls with vintage ponies and merch :D

Not to burst any pony bubbles, but I am fairly sure from the announcement opening thingy on the main page that it's not a permanent fixture.  It looks like it opened on the 13th Oct, which is why nobody who went to Japan has seen it - but it does say "期間限定オペン" which unless my brain has broken, means "open for a limited time". I didn't see a closing date but I only glanced at it.

This is the bit that I find the most amusing, though.

On the Thirteenth (opening day) Twilight Sparkle is coming to play(hang out/visit/etc).

The mind...boggles.

Picking a strange, meaty dish to put on an I Want a Pony plate may not have been the best choice. XD

Yes, i know it's not permanent (a pity) I think it's only there until the end of November.

Yeah, it's only going to be "popped up" until Nov. 29, but that's plenty of time to go if you already happen to be in the area. I'm sure Sunday Jam wouldn't want to be permanently pony-themed. ^^;

They not only had Twilight Sparkle, but a real life little pony too! Presumably provided through UMAJO's JRA connection, although I don't think miniature horse racing is a thing...?

Speaking of which, it looks like the Umajo Spots on the 5th and 3rd floors of Tokyo Racecourse are also going to be MLP-themed through November.

If Turkey Racing is a thing, then I guess miniature horse racing could be a thing too. Maybe they strap plush jockeys on their backs?

On the bright side, I can save money and just eat lunch in my bedroom; a lot cheaper than flying to japan

Has own pony cafe' whenever I want.

Lol! Best thought ever!!!
Yeah I could open my own cafe with my own collection and $$ for more mlps.

Don't get me wrong it's so cool that japan has a cafe and all.
But it would have been cuter do do more of a sweet lolita theme
Tables and chairs decor and all Than a ton of wall paper.
By no means am I complaining I guess I am just intrested in all out decked out places..however beacuse it's new it may still be in the prosses of being detailed and I bet the wall paper took a lot of $$

If I was in the earia I would go for sure, but I won't fly there just for it.

Still cool tho.
