California meetup October 24 (Santa Cruz), let's play games & ponies :)

Hi all! I've got the house free to myself for a bit in a few weeks and am looking to have a fun playful time of it. I tried this two years ago but nobody responded, so... trying again! Are you anywhere near Santa Cruz? You should come over! At noon!

I've got a bunch of games, from your basic Chess/Risk/Scrabble/Settlers of Catan up through Alhambra, Dominion, Carcassonne, Tichu, Puerto Rico, and plenty more, plus various quicker games like Category 5, Quarto, and even Fluxx and Uno. Come over and play stuff! Even if you're not an experienced gamer at all, there's sure to be something right for your skill level that pertains to your interests.

Or if that doesn't completely appeal to you, play with ponies instead! I've got a bunch of ponies too and lots of them are dying for some good roleplaying or at least hairbrushing. Reenact episodes or tell all-new stories. Want to pick out your favorite pony and build her an elaborate fortress? I've got blocks and legos.

Or... combine the two! Who knows how many games could use blind bags as player pieces? I'm guessing a lot of them. Whatever you feel like doing, there's sure to be a way, so come on down. Ask if I've already got a game you want to play before bringing it yourself. Bring money if you plan on trying to buy or sell ponies. Tell me your dietary preferences if you want to be fed. And of course tell me you're coming if you want this to happen at all.

Hey, its great to see another SC pony fan on the Arena!

I cant say for certain how many central California members there are on here, so you may once again have some difficulty getting a big response from people. I do have a couple of suggestions, though. If you haven't heard of Bronies of Northern California (or BONC) they are a group on meetup that have in the past done meetups at the Boardwalk and local beaches and may be worth looking into - especially if you are interested in hosting a meetup. There is also a yearly meetup in central California which I believe is hosted by Arena member Jahlila (and possibly others, I haven't been to it myself) this year it was held in May so be on the lookout for that.

Nekronyte: I posted there too both this year and last time and got no responses then. (I did attend most or all of the local boardwalk/beach meets, though. ) Hoping to do better this time! I've seen the central CA meetups but they're always too far away.

My partner would like to go too. They've gone with me to the CA pony meet with me a handful of times and they are a fan of boardgames, legos, and ponies as well. In fact, we have several board games at home and we could bring one or two with us!

I don't eat any meat, but I take no offense to others (my partner included) enjoying it!  (and my partner's a bit picky about onions.)

I do not in fact have Munchkin! I've definitely seen it many times, and played it twice or thrice, but it's never quite won me over enough to be purchased. I will accept attempts to convert, though, if you like it a lot.
