This one looks kind of odd. I've never seen any toy with bead hair like this, but MLP is really the only toy line that I keep up with, so I have no idea if this is something that's popular with another toy.  The concept is a neat one, but I think you'd need smaller beads to make a good looking substitute for hair, and that's obviously not going to happen for a toy aimed at small children. I'll have to see what others can really do with it before I can really say whether or not I like it.
To be honest, I never seen a toy with hair like this.. and the beads for AJ's hair is completely different

Only reason I'd ever get one is if the bodies are not hard plastic like i think they are.. then I could just custom them XD

i think kids would like this alot though. being able to customize and change the pony is pretty big with a lot of toy companies right now.
i know my niece sees me making customs and wants to do it herself.

Hmm, an interesting toy concept. But, I don't think I'll be getting any of these.  Maybe if it was a boy pony...

Gosh! They should do Mane-i-ac like this!!!  That would be totally in theme! wouldn't it??? :)

Though I welcome any AJ pony toy,  she just seems like the last character I would imagine to have like this.

Pop beads for hair... Yeah, that isn't going up any little kids' noses at all...

The age says 3+. That's usually past the "insert random things into orifices age". That's more the "lose everything and now you got a permanently bald pony" age. Tho I think AJ isn't pop beads but has beads on a string that can be curled since she comes with a fake curler instead of fake scissors.

Aw man, I dunno but it makes me happy to see things like this.  Sure it's odd and it's not something I want as an adult, but it's a toy line aimed at little kids and I think that's a pretty neat combination of ideas.  When I was a tiny tot and had my first ponies I really liked pearler beads, so it seems like a solid combination.

I don't want it, but I think it's a cute idea.

I'm just wondering what possessed them to do this combo XD
I think AJ is the better of the two since she isn't likely to lose any of the beadhair, but I'm wondering if it's elastic that makes it keep it's shape like with jointed dolls.. if so.. well we all know what can eventually happen to elastic.

Can't say I have ever seen anything like that even amongst non-pony toys/items. I feel like this is a bad idea because those little ball things are probably just gonna end up getting lost and going all over the place-especially with kids who buy them.

I guess it's certainly...creative? I don't think this line is going to last very long though.

This is going to be the first time I see a fashion style Applejack on shelves, isn't it?

I agree 100%. Ponies are for kids first and foremost and I can see little ones going bananas for these. I also loved perler beads as a kid and having bendy, twisty things to contort into weird gravity defying shapes was another fun thing to do!

Honestly, aside from the nuisance of beads going everywhere I think this is a pretty neat idea!

*SLAMS HANDS ON DESK*
NOW THIS IS THE KIND OF GIMMICKY CONTENT I WANNA SEE

Kinda reminds me a bit like Betty Spaghetti

Seriously though, I think its great that they are making things that will be fun for kids. Having more interactive artsy toys available is really nice to see! No matter how odd adults think it is. Kids first man.
I love art and ponies so much!!
