Super Mario Maker!
« on: September 22, 2015, 03:31:30 PM »
We have lots of gamers/Nintendo fans here, has anyone picked it up?

I was so hyped when I heard about this game and was dead set on getting it. Of course, I moved the day before release, without my Wii U, so I won't be able to actually play it myself for like a year. :( I've been watching way too many youtube videos of people making/playing levels and it looks like so much fun. Building levels, playing unlimited numbers of levels (especially in SMB mode), the little nods to Mario Paint, it's like Nintendo made this game for me...

Anyone else super crazy about the concept of this game? Anyone addicted? Share your experiences and let me live vicariously through you!

Seems like it could be really cool or really awful. Hubby's a bit interested I think.

I finally upgraded my wii and bought the Super Mario Maker Wii U.
I played mostly smash but I like the unlimited levels Mario Maker has to offer.

I've thought about getting it, but then again I just don't know what all I'd get from it, as I don't think I could actually see myself going through with making levels.

It's a great thing, though, and I'm glad Nintendo made it.  :)

I quite like the game, and now I can make evil levels to my hearts content. mwa ha ha ha flying mega-Bowsers everywhere!

I just wish that it was easier to get stars in the game, and dislike how Nintendo set it up for you to unlock all the "costumes" in the game.
Thank you so much for the adoptable, Corona! :D

My fiance and I played it at our friends house and thought of getting it, but... maybe if there's ever a sale on it (Black Friday?) we'll pick it up.

It was super fun, though! I can't wait to own it myself (after I finish the bajillion other games on the Wii U that I'm playing).

My finace just bought it the other day, she is pretty obsessed whenever a new Mario game comes out and this one is no different.
We've also got a friend couch surfing currently and he just sits home all day and plays it while we work so he puts in the time to unlock all the new features. New cool stuff unlocks based on how many minutes/hours are spent playing.
I enjoy it more than I thought I would, and Im not a big gamer. Though the classic Mario games are about all Ill play anyhow. Id vote its worth getting

My boyfriend purchased it a couple of days ago and he is growing fond of it. But he hates the way he has to unlock all the costumes and has made several courses which he just filled with useless stuff to unlock things as well as played uploaded games.. Now he has unlocked the most basic stuff and is building for real. I have not yet tried to build, but I've been a willing test pilot for his courses and it is rather fun. But I don't see it as a game I would return to over and over. I rather think we'll grow tired of it in a couple of weeks then sell it.

I am a fan of almost every Mario game, but I don't think that I will enjoy building up levels.. I just like to play the main story game and then collect all the stars, coins, stamps or whatever you can collect.

I think the best aspect of this game is creating levels and getting someone else to try to beat them and when they do, they make you a level to try and beat.
I can definitely see how making and playing your own levels would be dull. As I said before my fiance is crazy for the new game, and we've got a temporary roomie who is also obsessed with it, so they make each other levels to play back and fourth

It looks interesting but is it fun to play by yourself or boring becaue you are playing your own levels?
