make me feel better..... What auctions have you really wanted and lost?

I was pipped at an auction for a whole bunch of mommy charms the other day    Not happy

Oh man... I saw a "buy it now", one of those ones from China which has a bunch of lots for purchase! I thought, "there's like more than ten lots left, I'll buy them in a couple days when I get to it." BAM! The seller pulled the auction just a day later, and they have NEVER been relisted since!!! I wanted them so bad!! I was a fool!!!

Every auction for Sweet Scoops necklace (just the necklace and not the charm) and every auction for MO Baby's bottle and crib At least it gives me something to keep on searching for!

Yeah, I can imagine that one is a mad one. That necklace doesn't come up so very often and when it does it goes so stupidly high. I admit I gave up on ever getting it and my Sweet Scoops is stuck with having it tied with a normal ribbon I stole from my sister's ballerina barbie.

Also not pony related, and not an auction I lost, but I remember sitting in a thunder storm waiting to bid on something Jem. It was rare, and hidden, and I got it...but I was so scared the whole computer might explode.

Lost a Mexican Jem doll once too. Actually, I've had a lot of bad experiences with Mexican Jem dolls. Fortunately most of them I had before the unpleasant people in Jemdom decided they were not just "fakies" and they became the next "fad" for stupid prices, but one of those auctions I was sniped by a friend. It led to a huge misunderstanding as we had an agreement at the time not to outbid each other if we saw each other's name on auctions (at that time you could see it) and it got kinda nasty...

I was a lot younger and more stupid then. We sorted it out eventually. But I gave up collecting Jem so actively partly because of that and because I got sick of those same unpleasant people getting auctions closed behind the backs of honest bidders. Such behaviour is a real issue in Jemdom. (Ironically, it's perpetuated by fans of Jem. Fans of Misfits are generally a lot more honourable xD)

Most recently, I was bidding on a lot of candy cane ponies when the auction suddenly jumped completely out of my price range.  I hate it when that happens.

I was watching an excellent condition Gingerbread. I was online on my phone watching the minutes time down and when I went to place a bid it said my session timed out or something like that. By the time I got the page refreshed- it was over! Grrrrrr! I still haven't found a suitable upgrade yet.

Early days of collecting I was the underbidder on a set of seaside babies with floats but they went for £25 and I had never spent that much on a pony purchase before so didn't increase my bid.  Years later they go for huge prices and I now need Baby Splash to complete my UK releases so that auction still haunts me!

A few years ago when I was living in Australia, there was an auction on EBay Au for MOC South African Baby ponies (two babies on the one card), the seller was located in Melbourne where I was also living at the time so I thought it was some sort of sign & thought I would win so I set up my snipe and came home from work to discover I lost the auction & was the second highest bidder!
