The original 5 dolls (1979) had flat hands and no pets- just like this one. They were re-released in 1980 adding the Toddlers with their pets (Hops and Tea Time Turtle) - and then finally in 1981 a bunch of dolls were released with pets.I do wish they had done the 1981 Strawberry- but I guess the first doll fits in better with the "35th Anniversary" theme and all.
Yes, I think she is definitely well done. And the clothes, I adore them. They didn't take any shortcuts. Can you imagine if we got something like this for ponies? If anyone is looking, she is not on the doll shelves. She's with the retro fisher price toys and stuff like that. They even have a retro raggedy Ann and Andy.
