What generations do you collect?

I started with G4, but quickly grew into G1. A few years later, I gave in to all the G3s I saw at Goodwill, and now I hunt for them as well. Now I actively collect G1 and G3, and just the Funko ponies for G4.

I collect G1, cause i was an 80´s kid, i grew with the genereation, then i started to collect g3, they were easier to get, i stopped my collection on 2012 took a rest and then i started to collect G4 this year and still picking G1 and G3 when i find them

I only collect G2 since I grew up with them. I want to have all of them first (a long road ahead) before I start collecting another gen.

Well, I only really collect G1 (childhood ponies), but I have one G3 (Snowflake) as she is a little bit special to me. It doesn't count as collecting though I only ticked of G1.

G1 to the core But I have quite a few G4 and my fav (but small number) of G2 and G3.

I have ponies from all generations. I grew up with the first generation so they are my favorites but I never grew out of MLP and have kept buying new ponies, though it did take me about 1½ years to warm up to the second generation when they showed up. I'm not really a collector though but a hardcore fan. I did go through a phase of collecting early in the century when the second generation was still in stores and later got replaced by the third generation.

It's a shame the "G3.5" are so under appreciated. I really like them and saw a potential in them. I would have bought more of them if there had been more different characters.

I got into MLP with FIM and started out collecting the blind bag ponies, then the large Funko vinyls. My partner collects the G4 brushables (she's nearly complete!)
We both would up buying/hoarding nearly any G4 toy we saw and eventually needed to start selling off the things we didnt really love to make some space and get organized. I found some online communities to sell pony stuff and started falling in love with the G1s I saw for sale. Then I found the Arena....

Now I mainly collect the large Funko ponies and G1 adults, though I try to be very selective with my G1 "want list." My partner now also collects most G1 babies & baby sea ponies. I've also branched out into G3, I just couldn't resist their bright colors and fun cutie marks! They're more of a casual "filler" collection, Im not nearly as attached to those. They're just generally cheaper and easier to find in really nice shape.
Oh yeah, and I love the molded G1 petites! (Molded hair ponies are always favorites of mine)

I grew up with G1, so I collect those.  I started collecting G3 when they came out and I collect G4 as well.  I have a few G3.5 that my dad bought thinking they were the new G4 .

I voted for G1 and G2, but I have ponies from all gens.

I've always liked the customs and official G1s I saw on dA, but my MLP collecting began with G4. I quickly learned that I favored G1 and over the years I stopped collecting G4 because of the poor quality control and such. I still like some of them, especially FS/Zillas, but I sold off most of mine. These days I only really get G4s if they're gifts.

G1s are my favorite aesthetically, but there's something about G2s that's just so cute I can't resist it (I say despite only having a couple). I like G3s but I don't actively seek them out. As for G3.5, I'm not big on most of the official ponies but I love them customized.

I mainly collect G1 and G2 ponies. They were the ponies I had when I grew up, and I still like them best.
I also collect some G3, mainly food themes ponies, and I began collecting G4, because I wanted one of each unique character, but I can hardly find any new ones in store. (I would still love to buy a big lot for cheap, but I won't buy any new ones anymore unless they are on sale, they are so expensive here).

I grew up with G1 so I mainly collect them. I also collect G4 because they are so fun and cute. Also my daughter loves FIM. I have a few G3s that I found while thrifting but I don't actively collect them. I also have two G2s that are super cute. I may start collecting them more actively at some point.

I only collect G1 and G3. I just don't care for other generations. Although I will say that the G2 babies are cute.

I picked G3 and G4 but I'll get G1s when I see them but I haven't been going out of my way to collect them for years. Just like I have some G2s and G3.5 but wouldn't say I actually actively collect them.

I mostly collect G1s and occasionally get the odd G3 that takes me fancy. My original aim was to replace my favourite childhood ponies but after that was done, I saw other G1s that were just perfect; that said, it's actually been quite a while since I last got any ponies! (Been very well-behaved)
