Customizing G1 Merry go Round ponies

I am very interested in learning the best products and ways to create custom merry go round ponies. I want the same 3D look of the originals. anyone able to give me some suggestions or advice?! ;)

Hmm, I'm pretty sure someone here made a set of MGR babies. I seem to remember someone did a set of the original CP ponies as MGR ponies, too. Hope someone comes along with advice for you. :bump:

I would assume that sculpting the 3D parts would do the trick nicely.

Is the general consensus that Apoxie Sculpt is the best?  It's a bit hard to come by in Australia, but I'd rather invest in something that will work.  What glue do you use to affix it to the pony, or does it bake on?

I used Apoxie on the MGR custom I made once. Apoxie doesn't need either glue or baking, it dries hard and it can be layered without trouble. Definitely a good investment!
