What would you do? G1 Dream Castle
« on: July 26, 2015, 09:56:27 PM »
I have a spare G1 Dream Castle, only the front with the bridge not the two side walls.
Now I have a plan in mind to paint it in a diff color, I want to make it more of a Halloween Castle thing or more like a Crystal Palace....but since it's G1....I also feel a little worried to *Destroy History* But....I was thinking to sell...but shipping is outrageous...and the thing is discolored.....
I know it is MY Castle and I can do what I want with it...but....what would you do????

A custom castle WOULD be pretty rad.
"How much for the horse tornado?"
"Sir, that's a carousel."
"I must have it!"

Since it's not a mint complete castle, I say go for it. Make it your own and take lots of pictures.

Yeh, go for it!! If it was complete and in good condition then it would be better to try to preserve it, but as it's not, customise away!!

It's your castle, I think that sounds great! :D (And if it were ME, I wouldn't lose sleep over customizing an incomplete castle anyway...)  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I feel like a lot of people are doing it now, I've seen a few custom ones on Ebay after QueenStarglow (I always forget her exact username on here) showed off hers. So I get where you're coming from and if it was me, I'd just restore and not in my mind 'ruin' another. But it's up to you. (Eta:  well then again since it's only a piece of it its kind of hard to restore anyway so I'd feel less bad).

Any thoughts about what kind of paint I should use? I was thinking to buy a can of white spraypaint to cover the whole Castle, because if I would do it with a brush there are so many nooks and crannies it would take me ages to cover the whole thing!
But I can use 2 types of paint, acrylic/waterbased or the kind with turpentine in it, which would *stick* better?
