Question about G4 Minty's tail

Hi,

I have a G4 Minty that I bought. Is her tail supposed to be a little bit lighter than her mane? I tried comparing the tail and mane but holding them together and sometimes the tail looked like the same color and sometimes it looked a little lighter. She has been in a display case and I don't think she's had any sun exposure.

I've seen mane-tail color differences on Nurse Red Heart, who is that Walgreens exclusive.  I wouldn't be surprised if Minty had the same problem, she's sort of an exclusive too.

It's probably due to the different type of hair they've been using for tails lately. It causes a color difference because of shine difference.

Thank you both. So her tail is just a little lighter because the hair Hasbro uses for some tails is different?

I've noticed this in a lot of the g4 toys. My lily blossom has a distinctly different color tail from her main. Cherrilee is a little harder to notice. But either way it is definitely a common trait among the g4 toys. 
 I don't understand why they would even bother with having different hair for the tails, but I also have a hard time understanding most of hasbro's decisions. lol

Yup. That's about it. The most noticeable difference is with Twist from the filly seven pack. Her mane is super soft, shiny, and looks great, but her tail hair is drastically different. It feels more brittle, has no shine, and is frizzy.

Yeah, I cant understand it, either Does anyone know WHY they bother to produce lower-quality hair for the tails?

Maybe the head hair *has* to be higher quality because it's rooted into several (I can not say "lots" for G4) head holes.  But the tail hair is just bunched and stuck in the tail hole with glue as one piece so it can be coarser/cheaper.

I have this issue with my new Cutie Mark Magic Sunset Shimmer Her mane is beautifully shiny and soft, but her tail was almost rough to touch. I had to put a lot of conditioner in it to get it feeling smooth, but even now there's a noticeable colour difference.
My older brushables don't have this issue at all. It makes me sad.

Thanks everyone, I'm keeping my Minty as near mint as possible and I noticed her tail and mane already have a few hairs that are getting out of the rubber bands  My masquerade Sunset Shimmer's tail has always looked really bad.

My Sunset Shimmer's tail is rough and my Lily Blossom's tail is a completely different color than her mane which bothers me.

As others have said it is pretty normal for a lot of the most revent releases unfortunately...weird but perfecly normal.

She is a cutie! Although I will admit to being more fed up with how thin the tails are as opposed to differing colours and finishes.

I've found that Cos-Lily's "Cospray", a guava scented wig detangling and smoothing spray, really helps. It brought some shine to my Twist's tail, and can soothe away a bit of the roughness the ends can get. And since it's made for nylon hair and stuff, it won't leave a residue. It's pretty good stuff!
