Jem Products Announced by Hasbro

Hasbro officially announced on June 9, 2015 that there will be some products made for the upcoming movie release.

 I love Manic Panic and would love to have my hair look like Stormer's. It was such an awesome shade of blue. I also really wish they'd make some classic Jem dolls for the kids and for the adults who don't have the kinda cash to toss at triple digit dolls. I'm not into dolls but I would love to have Jem, Stormer, Pizzazz and Shana.

I agree that it would be nice to have some dolls that would be in an affordable collector range. The Integrity Toys Dolls are stunning but far too expensive for me to justify buying them.

It will be interesting to see if the products that do get released will be a retro throwback or if it will all be geared toward the movie.

The release isn't covering anything that will be produced by Hasbro itself. The release is just about third parties.

The dolls are ridiculously expensive. I love the three Holograms, but they made Jem look like a man :/ Some of the other less well known characters look cool too, but I just cannot get over Jem's man face.

I'm not excited about the merch (makeup, hair color and clothes) - but I am very interested in the Shop Bop exclusive doll!

I was thinking Hasbro would do a playline set of dolls based on the movie at some point, I think that was at least discussed at some point, but no idea if the dolls were ever made for production.  I hope so that still happens!

I was expecting MAC to get on JEM! I'll probably get the makeup as long as Macy's carries it. I can get it for roughly 60% off.

I saw on Amazon a small book and a pair of earrings that will be for sale in the fall.  It has the vintage artwork.

Hmm... interesting! But I guess I'll need to see this stuff for myself. Too bad Hasbro themselves aren't making any new dolls (though if they're based on the new movie we probably won't want them!).

Given that the movie actually looks nothing like the 80s cartoon, I don't think any of this stuff will appeal to any of us who actually like original Gem.  The manic panic hair colours probably wont have Stormer's Blue, because the Misfits aren't even in the movie. 

The non-related to the movie at all comic is very cool though, if you haven't picked it up yet, I'd highly recommend it.

I think Hasbro is making dolls for the movie because an article mentions one of the stars getting to see a doll head based on her character. This release however is strictly about licensed products so there is no mention of it.  (I think if the dolls are good people might want them from a standalone viewpoint)

Tbh the movie doesn't look so much terrible as it does look "not Jem". Like as a stand alone film it might be okay but not as a Jem movie.
