Price check: bait Big Brothers (and Lucky)
« on: June 21, 2015, 08:50:12 PM »
Hi guys, I have three bait boy ponies to sell, but I don't know how much to ask for them!

^ First off, Quarterback.  He actually was a custom of mine until I stripped off his symbo which was done in, er, nail polish.  (Don't judge me, this was back in the 90s when customizing was a brave new world.)  He has real pony hair, as in "rehaired off an actual MLP", but unfortunately his scalp has "split"; the tiny individual holes that make up his mane have sort of run together.

^ Baby Lucky's hair was brittle and breaking from sun-damaged and his symbol had faded away to almost nothing, so I helped it along.  He's also kind of discolored.

^ You know how sometimes you're trying to pry the head off a pony and the neck plug tears?  Yeeeah, that's what happened here.  His head will need to be glued back on.  Also, he too had a symbol done in nail polish.  It should come right off with acetone, but right now it's a goopy mess (and partly caught in his tail).  He has been rehaired with genuine MLP hair, probably from Glory.  He used to be a Daddy Apple Delight.

I feel kind of guilty about the two adult boys, since I definitely would not have baited them if I came across them today.  But at by "rebaiting" them they can prevent some other ponies from being baited.  :)

Price estimates welcomed!

Barnacle looks so good with rainbow hair! I'm no expert but I don't think the big boys would be worth more than $10 a piece. Maybe less.

I would say you can send them to me and I'll deal with them, my theme has become re-baiting for a little while now.  However shipping from the USA is too high for these lovely boys and I've got to be sensible this month! I hope someone your side of the pond will be good to them and sort them out...

Yeah,  I think you can probably ask $10 or so for the adult boys. They're pretty much prepped baits, which is nice, and big brother bodies are hard to find. I agree that Barnacle looks great with rainbow hair.  ^.^ Lucky would probably be less since I think his pose is less popular; maybe $4-ish?

I would go a touch lower on the blue boy - $8 - and $10 on the white because he has the white base. Probably $3 on Lucky (you can pick him up in nice condition not too much more). Baity boys are always much better value than others.

$8-10 for big brothers is a good price
you might be able to get up to $15 as they are VERY sought after baits

i have a quarterback i was going to bait (for his color) if you want i'd be willing to trade him for your quarterback if you still have him. i was probably going to rehair with mohair or brushed yarn so the split opening shouldn't be a problem

OMG, I want them! :P Seriously, if anyone hasn't spoken for the two rehaired adults yet, PM me!! :yikes:

I'd agree with $8-10 for a BB bait, but since they're rehaired, you could ask higher? :)
