Unreleased G1 ponies

Speaking of, has anyone ever made customs of the dolls that were supposed to go with the Pony Friends? :o If I had any customizing skills at all I'd totally take a stab at it, some of those dolls were super cute (especially Kendall, the one that went with Kingsley!).

Kendall... should be made with a Ken doll! Woooooah.

But seriously. There were so many times in the books when the ponies met random children and other people. Those story lines were totally not cannon to the show, though! There are so many people in the overall pony world that someone could customize, though. I want the evil wizard from Glory, the Magic Unicorn! I guess that shouldn't be too hard with a Dumbledore doll or something. Hehe.

I think Taffeta may know who owns most of the prototypes. She keeps records.

Though most prototypes from pamphlets have locations unknown. It's assumed that Hasbro scrapped them after photographing them.

I honestly have no clue who owns them, if anyone. Aside from the resin Baby Explorer and the painted Schooltime ponies, I am not aware of surviving uk release pony prototypes. Someone else may know more whether any exist still.

There are 2 Baby Schoolbag prototypes, the one on his backcard photo is in the walking first tooth pose. Schoolbag is officially a boy, though, despite the pose he was sold in.

Lady Lessons appeared a lot in the comics with the school and rekated ponies, the glasses she wears came with the school too. I have yet to see a prototype for her or any advertising that includes her. The list Hasbro sent me does not mention her. Possibly worth checking with Hathorcat to see if her paperwork says anything?

I am still mad at Hasbro over Paradise, baby lofty and Baby Shady. Especially the two babies since we had the rest of the set here without bbe and those two were innthe comics but never sold here. Grr.

I admit I hate those dolls, lol. It took a really long time to convince peopke inline they were not UK release, since back in the late 1990s peopke assumed everything that was not mainstream us was uk, even nirvana and prototypes from us catalogues!

Going back to prototypes here, there is also the unknown pegasus cookery pony from the insert...

As well as a bunch of variations on the Romance Ponies.

I do wonder whybthe celestial ponies were scrapped at design stage, too. That thread was really interesting reading, although it struck me that the baby sea ponies and most of the babies without bbe were shown in the pose they would be sold in in the UK.

I think the most odd oddball out there is the beddy bye eye Sunlight however - we dont have a clue where she comes from after all but she is an amazing find.

Oh My!! It's like a perfectly cute uber toy line of amazing next level dolls and animal companions! That's the most amazing thing I've seen in a while. If I ever finally get Creamsicle, I'll try to make a custom of the doll to go with.

Can I just say, that if all of the Beddy Bye Eye Babies looked like Baby Ember in LadyPinwheel's post, I would collect them by the pound???? Those eyes look so sweet and gentle, not like the buggy-out eyes we ended up getting.

Baity Moondancer dolls, maybe? Barbie's sister Stacie is probably the right size, too (though she may be closer to Megan's size).

yeah i love some of the commercial prototypes better, like the Flat foot version of lemon drop and blue sprinkle from their box pictures.
btw a great deal of my old mlp books have majesty drawn like her, the commercial one there with her symbols looking more like flowers
