I love the witches, and especially the Tiffany Aching books. Strong female characters who take responsibility for their actions ftw. My favourite regular Discworld books are probably Jingo, Hogfather and Witches Abroad. It's hard to really choose a favourite though!

Favourite quote:

"…if you trust in yourself…and believe in your dreams…and follow your star…you’ll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren’t so lazy.  Goodbye." (Wee Free Men)

I love Discworld, though it has been a way too long time since I last read any of the books. Maybe that's something to do during the time I'll spend at my parents in July.

I think Hogfather is my favorite book out of them all as it has some very interesting thematics of religion and my favorite characters are Death, Agnes and Granny Weatherwax. The scene where Granny Weatherwax must choose the real her from the mirrors is one of the scenes that left a lasting image in my mind, so I'd say it must be one of my favorites if not the favorite.

Love his earlier books the newer ones not so much. I really dislike the witches, can't stand reading about them. My favoritecharacter is Death (and mousedeath) and the cityguards. My favoritebooks are Mort and Soul Music.

Oh yeah!  Going Postal is my favorite :)

That was the first Discworld book I ever read so it holds a special place in my heart for sure!

My favorites are the City Watch books, Thud! is probably the top but it's hard to choose... And while I really love the witch and wizard characters, I always have a tougher time getting through the books that focus on them, even though I really like the characters. Not sure what that's all about...

They're pretty awesome- if you like fantasy with a satirical twist, I'd highly recommend giving them a shot!

One of the beauties of the series is it almost doesn't matter which book you start on. There are a couple exceptions to this but for the most part, just about any book can get you started. I hope you find time for them someday, you won't be disappointed!

I love them, I'm a big fan of the books about Death (like Mort) but I really, really loved going postal.

I was also lucky enough to me Terry Pratchett when he visited my University and he signed my illustrated copy of the last hero.  So that will always be a favourite for sentimental reasons.

Love 'em. Pyramids and Small Gods and the Guard series as a whole in that order are my favourites.

They just announced the final Discworld book - it's Tiffany Aching. I'm surprised because I thought I Shall Wear Midnight tied up her storyline but also really happy because I love Tiffany.

I would have been happy with anyone, really.
