Eurovision 2015

It's that time of the year again! And this time around it will be even more exciting as Australia is participating, too. :cheer:

Who are you rooting for? What are some of your favourite songs this year? Did you follow the semifinals? How do you prepare for the evening; got your cliché lyrics bingo drafted or a group of friends gathered for a drinking game?  Share your thoughts!

I only started to follow the Eurovision a couple of years ago. Only after I realised it was much more fun if I ignored the fact that, for the most part, the music is going to be horrible, and that's absolutely fine because it's not about the music.  :P I'm not sure if this year there are more shows/songs that are rather bland, compared to last year. Or maybe it's just me. But some of my favourites are Britain, Sweden and Australia (for the music, surprising as that is!), and Romania and Hungary for the important messages they carry (though the music is not bad either). What about you guys?

Plus, Conchita is lovely as ever.

Nothing planned really for the big night, just a nice evening with hubbie and some chips and wine ;) But I´m so excited!! What a lot of fun you liked Sweden, I do too hehe even though lots of sites say Sweden is one of the number one favourites I can't get too worked up about it just to be disappointed later tonight, there are a lot of good songs out there tonight I think :D
Let the fun begin!

I was suppose to work but because of Eurovision people wont go to the movies so we felt a bit overcrowded with workers and presented with the opportunity to get tonight off I took it. I've not followed this for a number of years but considering the alternatives on TV I might watch a bit. I have no idea of the music, I've not even heard Swedens participant. If I watch it will be on my own, as I don't feel too social and boyfriend is off to a party.

I was suprised to see on the news Australias love for this show, I had no idea. I am curious about their singer. Also, a coworker is there to watch the show live so maybe I'll be able to spot her face in the crowd ^___^.

Uh, the Netherlands already got tossed out :P I might watch it, but I'm pretty sure the Dutch votes will go to Belgium. But I'm hoping that Sweden will win :)

Birds Eye Potato Waffles, they're waffley versatile :P

I'll watch for the sarcastic commentary when the votes are cast. I don't normally watch the singing part, because I tend to find most of the 'favourite' songs to be terrible and/or boring . Take the lyrics out of ours and I kinda like it (then again, I like most music that isn't modern day pop or slow romance songs, so...). I quite like France's song too. Good luck in particular to Australia! I'll be rooting for ya :D

Although I admit, I miss the days when people voted based on the singing, not the effects and dancing.

UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany don't have to go through the semi finals because we pretty much fund the EBU. So one little advantage of paying for that is that if we want to enter Eurovision we skip straight to the finals :P

And on the otherside...ITS EUROVISION BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cocktails are ready, Chinese food is waiting...this is gonna be good! Eurovision

A few people in our company are doing a Eurovision sweepstake this year. My country is Hungary, so I have about zero chance of winning, but as my main reasons for participating were that my friend is organising the sweepstake and that 50% of the proceeds go to charity, I don't mind. :)

Thank you Hathorcat for the explanation, I'm watching it but I don't think with a chance to win, I wouldn't vote for the french candidate if I could :)
