I adore the pony artwork, sadly I don't own any pamphlets anymore but I remember how fun it was to look at them as a child. I think my Barbie dolls used some of them as books  I do have a few of the G1 Annual books, and I love looking at the artwork.

Aw, I can't see yours. :( I used to love looking over these, for both MLP and LPS, dreaming about which ones I'd get if I could (normally most of them!). I will see if I can find and photograph them later.

I LOVE the G1 pamphlets and the one posted is my favorite as well.  So bright and colorful and magical.  I especially liked the ones where the ponies were painted (not photographed) and where they were in their "real" poses.  It made the toy ponies seem more "real".

I used to pour over all my old pamphlets and backcards all the time as a kid.  So beautiful.

I have a bunch somewhere from my childhood that have circles drawn around the ponies I wanted most. We have a new color scanner at work (yes, our old one only scanned black and white!), so I'll have to scan mine whenever I find them!

I also recently found some Playmobil pamphlets in a box of my old toys. Those were really cool, too! I hadn't drawn in those, though -- they were actually in decent condition.

I used to have a little mail order brochure of the pearlized baby ponies. They were photographed while posed on a beach. I remember looking at the picture frequently thinking how cool they looked. I wonder if anyone knows what I'm talking about or still has it.

That might have been one of the ones I have or had. I'm pretty sure someone on here has a scan. :)

I remember when pinkember first sent me photocopies of that insert and the one with the TAF babies, and I just sat and stared at Mummy/Baby, Pearly Baby Glory, Dabble and Scribbles and the TAF babies for it must've been an hour. First ever encounter with such ponies. Immediate adoration :D.

Darn Hasbro USA's promotional insert magic >.>

The US seem to have more inserts for mail orders than regular releases, though, towards the end - is that the case?? The UK was sucky for Mail Order (-.-) so we have only regular release inserts and paper mail in forms for the few offers we had...(I think Magical Breeze/MM Windy is the only exception)

I have this sense that Hasbro must have had millions of Magical Breezes left over since they KEPT running this offer >.>

Oh man, I bought that MM Magical Breeze / Windy pamphlet off someone.  "EXCLUSIVE PONY ESPECIALLY FOR YOU!!!"  And then they released the whole set in the UK.  Come on now, Hasbro.

I think every US pony had a pamphlet showing all the ponies from the year (excluding mail orders) at least up to Year 6 (second set of Newborn Twins, etc).

By Year 8 they had switched to pamphlets that showed one example of each set (one Prom SHS, one Rainbow Curl pony, and so on) instead of full sets.

I'm not sure if Year 7 got a full-set brochure or one of each.

I never saw any MM ponies here in stores (my area sucked) so as a kid I always thought that Magical Breeze was special and a MO pony because of having the pamphlet. But at carboots she was pretty common, so I guess we got the double whammy. (Poor, screwed over UK -.-)

Yep! Thanks for posting it. :) You know I look at that now and think "$10.50 for Rapunzel, if only I'd known back then what her value would become."

I love when they draw scenes with them. I really like the art on the cover/flipside of the 1985, 6 and 7 UK ones but I don't have it scanned ><. I also like the US artwork on all the drawn pamphlets....some of which I think is the same or similar to stuff used on some of the UK pamphlets. I know that US pretty up images were used on the UK 1987:2 and 1987:3 inserts, because Angel (and I think Quackers) just weren't sold here >.>. As a kid, I thought they'd made a mistake with Quackers and meant baby Quackers...and I had no clue about Angel :D

I am still trying to find an insert for the US for 1988, because it's Taffeta's, and I love the artwork for those sets (Princesses, TAF) etc.

I had the one with Molly and Baby Sundance and it was taped with clear boxing tape on the seams because I had opened it so much. I lost it but now I know have all the big ones and one or two of the smaller ones plus a bunch of the mail order brochures. My favorite is probably the one with Molly since that was the one I had and drooled over most as kid..

I love them and try to add to my collection each year. But I have two from my childhood (some of the few things I have from my childhood) and I remember looking at them all the time
