I have to admit I prefer the birthstone names and dragon assistants of the UK princesses than the random names and bushwoolies of the US ones.

I just learned that only the UK releases came with dragons! Explains a lot. Bushwoolies are cute (they remind me of Cousin It from the Adams Family  ) but I prefer the dragons.  The only problem now is how long I can resist the temptation to start collecting them...

The Princesses and Dragons are awesome. Hasbro really characterised them well, in the comics, Factfile, etc...and I think that's part of the reason people really want to collect them. Even all the dragons had personalities xD.

(And, LadyG, Babydoll's Amethyst...has Sapphire's hat...sigh...xD Yet more evidence for your argument!)

The princess ponies are, without question, my favorite set within any generation. Someday I would like to own them MIB, but that's definitely a long term goal. For now, I'm working on owning them at all (since I'm still pretty new to all of this). I figure I'll eventually work toward getting them, their accessories, their bushwoolies and their dragons out of box. But I definitely want the UK versions for my MIBs (my wallet has somehow become animated and gained the ability to flinch as I say this... ) I think that their stories are more interesting, and as a writer that's a big selling point to me.

So true! While I generally refer to them by their US names, the gemstone names are far more elegant. The dragons are also more fitting to a princess pony (dragons, castles, princesses, hello?!) than bushwoolies. What is one supposed to be anyhow?
