How do you get a Mimic exactly?

I know it happened to me with G2s they were not appealing to me until i went for "few " ......  Now after hundreds of them ..... they are the queens of my collection

Mimic is different. I think she has magic to make people want her. . But I loved reading the Mimic in the window story, and congrats to the person with the BIN!

It took me about an 18 month hunt to get mine. I finally bought her here on the arena from a member in the US who was selling her entire collection. I can't remember exactly what I paid for her but it was reasonable and she is in pretty good condition. If you can be patient the right Mimic will come along for you!

I was hunting a Mimic a few years ago, and if you want one in fair/poor condition, it seems to be about $50-60. If you want one in good condition, the price could be around $100. For one in great/excellent condition, I've seen prices around $300 or more.

Eventually I just customized my own, which I love just as much =)

I'm not all that fond of her, I don't like her pose.  But she grew on me.  She has a mohawk which actually suits her.  Also she has some cancer spots and a smudged symbol.  She tends to fall over, but like I said, she grew on me.

Check lots on ebay. I've scored 2 this way and you can also sell the others to offset the cost.

Two of them actually, one is MIB for $350, and the other is in amazing condition. I've never seen so much Mimic at the same time on ebay

Looks mint with card rather than on card. Which in my estimation makes the card worth about $200 in that sale. O.o. I've seen MOC Mimic on ebay before, but it sold for an obscene price.

I love my Mimic and her card, but you know, if I thought someone would pay $200 for the card on its own, I might be convinced to sell it ><.

Talk about it with friends mention how much she is worth, discover one of said friends bought it for you, buy them a ton of good luck bear stuff in exchange. True story.

Well.
You go deep into the darkest depths of the amazon jungle. After bribing two men, who speak no English with Reeses Pieces, they will take you to the temple of Ingangjoooliegooliegotcha where fake marzipan and twinkle eyes. There, you will fight rabid parrots for days, until you are seen to be the winner.
From there, you are flown by the ugliest parrot to a rubber volcano, where you will both plunge into the depths, and be made into a Mimic Pony.

Spot Mimic in someone's living room window, knock on the door with your parents and ask if they'd sell her but they instead give you the pony.   True story.

Wait.  WHAT?!?! How did you see..when was this.. just what?! 
I'm stunned!

It was around fifteen years ago.  I was out doing some door to door volunteer work with my aunt and I spotted Mimic.  My mom and stepdad were coming to town to visit and I told them about Mimic so we left my apartment and went over, taking a bag of ponies to see if the householder might trade or sell her if Mimic wasn't already the favorite of a kid in the house.   Turned out it was a little old lady who worked at the Salvation Army and Mimic had been donated to the store.  She thought the pony was cute and no one else wanted her so she took her as a window decoration.  She didn't want my ponies or money but offered to give the pony.  She didn't look well off so my parents gave her some money anyway and I came back one day with a stuffed animal gift.  Mimic has sat in my collection shelves ever since and won't ever be leaving.  I recently lost my aunt who was with me when we discovered Mimic so the little green unicorn is even more special now.   
I'm on the road working for the next few weeks so I don't have a pic of the pony but she's in pretty good shape.  Hair is mint.  Parrot has a tiny spot damaged but no spots in the plastic.  Eyes don't have their sheen anymore but that's ok.  Body faded a bit, I guess because she lived in a window.

I didn't thinks he was all that attractive either til she arrived, much nicer in person, the colours never translate well in photography...
