What kind of glue for pony hair?
« on: March 22, 2015, 04:34:56 AM »
I've only used the knot-and-thread method, but this time I think I'll need some glue on this custom. But what kind, how to apply it and how to avoid glue seepage?

Thanks in advance

I've used tacky glue and it works well. However, tacky glue is not waterproof.  So if you plan to get your pony's hair wet you might find it falling out.

Check out hair sites like Dollyhair, they often sell glues or at least name their favourite brands.

I use hot glue on a wooden stick to get it inside the pony's head.

Tacky glue for me too, i typically apply by glooping it in with a q-tip and smearing it around to cover all the hairline in the head, and kind of "massage" it into it. Ill let it dry for a couple days balanced so the hair is parallel to the ground to keep the glue pooled where i want it and so it wont drip all over the place while its still wet.
