The Stompers still have a land-line. My folks still have one, too. I do have a cell phone, but I would much rather use my land-line. I am happiest when my cell phone doesn't ring, but texts from hubby are welcome.

Am I in the minority? Let's find out.

We have both. Too many hurricanes and storms that can take out power for long periods and you don't want to try to rely on cell phones in an emergency when half the time you have no power to charge them.

At the moment, I only have a landline. I discontinued service on my cell phone about 6 months ago because I hardly ever used it and the battery kept dying, so it just seemed like an unnecessary expense. It was a great phone, having lasted for about 7 years. It was my brother's cell phone before that.

My fiancé and I just have our cell phones.  So far, so good.  No need to get something that we've done without since living on our own.  We have backup batteries in case we need them during a power outage.

We're also hardly ever home, so our cell phones are the easiest way to reach us, which really makes a landline useless in our situation.

I had a landline but now only a cell but I do agree that a cell isn't good in emergency like a Hurricane, flood, or you can't power/plug in the cell phone. I learned that with  super-storm Sandy.

I have both.  I tend to use my cell phone more, but if I know it is going to be a long call I'll use my land line.  On long calls I find it more convenient since I can rest the phone between my shoulder and my ear more easily than I can with my iPhone.  And I enjoy talking on the phone a lot so I end up using the land line pretty regularly!  Also I don't like to run down the battery on my cellphone when I know I'll be going out later.  Many people that I know only have a cell phone, though.

Just stuck with the cell phone. Not a fan of texting. ABC means pushing the #2 as many times as needed. Takes me forever to type words... I love my phone, it's going on 6 years old with an amazing built in mp3 player...

I have a landline just because it's there in the house. People know to always call me on my mobile though, as I treat the landline phone like it's coated in poison; that said, I hate talking any kind of phone full-stop, including the mobile. If it was up to me, I wouldn't have any kind of phone at all. *raging curmudgeon much* :/

We have both but mostly because it came as a package deal with our internet and for some odd reason dropping it would cost more because we're "grandfathered in" to an older deal.  We don't use it really.

My fiance and I do not have a land line; we both use our cell phones.  I had a land line briefly in college, but got tired of all the telemarketers calling at all hours of the day and haven't had one since. 

My parents and my fiance's parents have land lines and cell phones.  I think they still have land lines partly because it is included with their internet packages and partly because cell phone reception is still a bit unreliable in the rural areas where they live.

That's how it is for us, except it's cable and internet.  We watch all of our shows online, so we'd love to drop the cable, but it would cost more.  They've even tried to convince us to get a landline, but NOPE.

No landline where I'm living now.  And I don't plan on getting one at my apartment, either.  I don't talk very much on the phone, so just my cell phone is enough for me.  Plus, it's a lot easier to reach me with a cell phone since I've always got it near me.

Yeah, that's a few gripes I have against my cell phone too. I have to text using my number pad, so it takes me a long time to type out a sentence. (Yes, I do tend to spell things out, anyway, as I can't stand typespeak. ) Also, I don't keep it on my person and it only rings for about 10 nano-seconds (I can't change that). So by the time I dig it out of my bag, take it out of its case, and open it up, the phone often stops ringing.

Yup, technically it's my parents but we have a landline at home
I rarely give the number out though if I need to put a number down since I'm more likely to have my phone nearby
