I'm a huge pokeshipper but after starting to watch XY, I fell in love with Serena and started on amourshipping. To me, as I've had a loooong break from the anime (from the episode Misty left, to XY) Ash is so different now to how he was then he is almost a different character!

It's the voice of James now that I hate. And Meowth. Oddly enough james is currently voiced by one of the original voice actors - the voice of gary.  Their is also a girl that styaed on after 4kids lost the rights for pokeon but I think she did mostly extras and pokemon voices.

I have a tiny bit of nostalgia for the 4kids dub of the original anime, but I find it unwatchable now I'm less naive, as it's one of those aggressive Western-ised monstrosities that removed a lot of cultural references, and Celestia knows what else, for no logical reason (it was so confusing to me as a kid that they aggressively called the onigiri "onions", when they didn't look like onions, nor is it common for people to eat whole onions....). Ah, the 90s.
