Perhaps as others have suggested, the little royal rugs could be like clouds or the night sky? Like the magic follows the ponies wherever they go?

Please come make stories with me! I need to head to JoAnn Fabrics this weekend and find some starry felt for the ponies to stand on! I don't want to risk anything harming my ponies.

I would love to hear more about how you did it.  What types of paint did you use?  How did you avoid visible brush marks?  I tried to paint an old UK Kitchen once and it was a disaster.  I tried using spray paint but the guy at the hardware store told me they don't usually work on plastics.  I tried an oil-based paint and of course couldn't get the mistakes off and made the surface horrid and lumpy.  I tried to sand it back and just got tiny steel wool fibers stuck to it. It was a yellowed-blotchy-lumpy-stinky mess.  (Yours, btw, looks impeccable )

Oh gosh thank you!! I used Krylon Fusion for Plastic spray paint because it's designed specifically for plastic. I sprayed all pieces until it was opaque and that took several very thin coats so the paint wouldn't run. Because the Fusion acts like a primer, I used acrylic paint (Martha Stewart brand) over it. It took many many coats to eliminate the brush marks. I was pretty nervous for a while... I literally spent an entire day painting coat after coat, watching all seasons of FiM on Netflix lol.  Let it dry overnight and painted a million coats over the stones and accents, ect. Then let it dry again and did a couple coats of acrylic top coat. I was really worried I would mess it up!

Its gorgeous. You should add some accent colors in it to give it a little more punch.

This truly is gorgeous. Love the colors you went with for the castle. Those colors really do give it such a wonderful starry feel.
