I think they look great.  I pre-ordered Princess Cadance and Shining Armor for myself.  I'm not very fond of the variants.  Not sure what I will do if I get one.  Try to switch it out at the store? Or if they sell well online maybe I could use the money to buy the normal version and more ponies with the profit.

I'm sure you could also find someone on here would be willing to trade you a regular variant for the glitter if you get one. *hint hint* I may not be a huge fan of these glitters this time around but I'd still like them!  Along with Luna, these two will be the only ones I don't have.

To be honest though, the glitters tend to sell well on eBay for the first few weeks depending on rarity.  Some people don't mind paying ridiculous amounts of money for them... I am definitely not one of these people.

Tell me about it! Reminds me of when the blind bag ponies first came out, a guy spent $200 for a Fluttershy since at the time the ONLY way to get her was from the BBs, while the other Mane 5 had other single/individual releases.
