Unpopular pony opinions!

I have another, and I'm guessing it's going to be very unpopular haha, but there's nothing that I hate more than hearing about and seeing extremely rough play.
I'm not talking about where a ponies hair guessed messed up or a little trimmed, no I mean where it's okay for the toy to get destroyed, to have a skipping rope tied around the ponies throat and smashing it into the tiles. I was brought up to take care of things that I have because we did not get much because we were very poor, and seeing kids that smash a robotic talking pony or an iPhone, a quadbike or anything boil my blood. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who feels this way, maybe I just don't like kids lol.
I don't even like hearing of what my mum did as a kid, sticking pins all through Barbie dolls, especially the eyes??? Yikes!
I know they're toys, and I think everyone should enjoy MLP both young and old, but the destruction is just.... Rrrggghhh!
I consider this an unpopular opinion as I know there is a lot of parents/families on here and I just don't like hearing of kids chewing/destroying g1 ponies to pieces, that's another g1 pony gone.... They're not made anymore, and kids can still enjoy mlp when they know not to eat it....

I can definitely relate to this. I will admit I was notorious for swapping (and losing) clothes of my dolls, but I certainly didn't do that deliberately or break anything. My brothers would do some weird things, like putting marbles in a sock and pretending they were nunchuks (Ah, Ninja Turtles...) but they didn't deliberately wreck their toys either. Alas, we had Cuddles (whose nickname was Chewy) and she liked Barbie hands, action figure accessories, pens and socks. Now my mother, on the other hand, will happily detail chopping the hair off every doll my grandparents bought her and even doing so after promising not to. Which always made me cringe, even as a kid. I mean, why would you do that?!

Looking back, I wish I'd been into the G1 cartoon as a kid. If I had been, I think I would have owned ponies over Barbies. I loved my dolls, but I think I'd have a better carry-over from childhood. (Ponies usually don't come with clothes.) But what can you do? That's all in the past. I now have the start of my MLP collection and I have about 20 beautifully clothed Monster High dolls.

I ADORE those heavy-metal G4's that came out last year.  They're AWESOME and I want more like them!

Glad I'm not the only fan! They are too weird not to love, I think. I never thought of them as heavy metal, though. Maybe Glam Rock or Hair Metal? Personally I just called them Lingerie ponies.

I love the Ponymania ponies too!

We dont lock or close threads on request. Especially if there is absolutely nothing wrong with the content. However you can edit your original posts easily enough.

Its not brony arguments...its lots of different opinions.

If you dont like it...you simply dont have to click and read it.

And if you start a thread called "unpopular opinions"...you are going to have to expect some opinions and statements you dont agree with unfortunately.

I'm confused as to when this became brony arguments.  Everyone seemed pretty darn civil to me. 

I think someone posted this already, but I also don't get the "nirvana" pony hype.  The regular US and UK releases look just fine to me.  I could never imagine dropping $100+ on a pony just because it's from Spain or whatever...

Yeah, I certainly didn't see any arguments pop up in this thread, so why request to have this thread closed when everybody's being civil about sharing their "unpopular" opinions?

I think this is an unpopular pony opinion; I don't like the Playtime Baby Brother Ponies, they're eyes look weird to me, a bit scary!! Like they weren't painted on quite right!! :0D

I'm finding this thread is fun!  I think everyone's seen statements they agree / disagree with, but no one's gotten heated about it. 

Unpopular opinion:  I don't like the "boys as Clydesdale" idea.  I'd be down with them as a separate breed with both males and females, though.  (Funny story:  some of my little cousins came to visit me once and I got out my collection for them to play with.  Carefully supervised of course, ha ha.  Anyway, they immediately decided ICE CRYSTAL was the "mother" of the pony family they were putting together.  Even after I told them he was a boy--nope, he was the mom.)

Also,  I don't care for any of the Big Brother ponies except Tex, Wigwam, and Barnacle.  (The Mountain Boys, on the other hand, are awesome!)
