Frustrating NZ Post service (Just FYI)

Hi everyone!

I just sent off my Mod Swap package, going somewhere international, but nearby.

I paid for shipping online, and opted for the 4-6 working day service, which is an express international courier.
I dropped it off in person on the 16th, and was assured it would get there in time for Christmas. The tracking number has been accepted and scanned on the 16th, and hasn't moved from there.
When I rang NZ post, they said they were having delays of up to 5 days moving it from the post office to Customs!   :blink:

I'm a little annoyed, as they have actually frozen the amount in my account, and it wont clear until Custom's have it on a plane.
If I had known they were having such delays I wouldn't have paid for the more expensive option!

Very frustrating!  I've got similar delays with a parcel i'm expecting within Aus!  Received almost 5 days ago and still sitting over the other side of the country :(

It took 5 weeks for me to get a parcel from napier. I am not impressed with nz post at the moment

Thank you, Loa! My sister is expecting a package from NZ and was wondering what the hold up was. I'm going to call her now and let her know what's happening. She ordered at the start of December, so hopefully that means it'll arrive soon!

I really and truly do not understand how it is legal for them to take your money and refuse to provide the service you paid for....  If I dropped a parcel off with a postal worker and they took it and put it in the store closet, and said they would be mailing it in two weeks, my next phone call would be to the police department.
