Chocolate fondue favorites ~ results!

The fondue fountain!! I did end up buying cheesecake and featured it midway through the party. The MOST popular were: #1 strawberries, and #2 bananas. The pretzels and marshmallows were popular too. Although yummy, I would avoid the gummi bears and small marshmallows next time... with their small size they can fall into the fountain and clog the auger.

I would love to do another fondue party with arena members! Stay tuned!? 


My husband and I are hosting a dessert party for some neighbors and co-workers... we have a brand new chocolate fondue fountain this year (thanks, MMW!) and I need help deciding on another dipping food! For sure we will have: bananas, strawberries, marshmallows and pretzels. In the past we have done bacon (very popular) but we are going to skip that this year. I've narrowed the options to a few likely foods, but I need help deciding which to do! (And for $$, time and space considerations, I can't do them all!) Party is this Saturday, so I need to shop before then!

Assume each food item in poll is bite size!

LOL I'd be happy with just the strawberries and bananas! Oh! I bet candy canes would be good too! And decorative on top of yummy!

Will you be having a separate party for Arena members? 
I chose Rice Krispie Treat and Graham Cracker.

Anything that holds up should be good.  Pound cake is traditional but I ended up picking rice crispies cause..well, think about it!

Gummi Bears, Swedish Fish, marshmallows, and refrigerated cookie dough balls (obviously egg free for me) are my favorite things for chocolate fondues!!!

Im fixing to have one at my mini holiday party!!! Mmmmmmm those gummi bears go FAST!

This is my Birthday dinner every year and of course chocolate fondue for dessert. We do bananas, strawberries, pineapple, tinned mandarin oranges, mini marshmallows, and grapes!!!!!

I am boring and wouldn't try any of them, except maybe waffles. But you said share your stories so I want to chime in and say pineapples! A friend had chocolate fondue at her birthdayparty and I was greedy and ate all the pineapple bits. They are delicious with chocolate and I never knew that before.

Wow lots of stuff showing up here I never thought would taste good with chocolate... mandarin oranges, grapes and pineapple!? Gummi Bears and chocolate, really? I may have to get more adventurous this year...

Also, thanks for the note on the marshmallows- I was planning on using regular size, but mini would probably be better... more chocolate to mallow ratio, and smaller portion size so one can try a little (or a lot) of everything else too!

Glad you already have the fruit.  I hope to die eating strawberries  in chocolate fondue.  Of the choices you have listed cheese cake and cream puffs sound the best to me.

You can actually buy chocolate-covered gummy bears here - they are divine!!!  Enjoy your fondue

MMM! Angel food cake! I LOVE angel food cake... I usually eat it generously ladled with strawberries and strawberry syrup... and a large dollop of whipped cream. Chocolate would be great too! Mmmmm... must resist baking and eating entire angel food cake today...
