Fun(ny) non-collector pony descriptions
« on: November 12, 2014, 10:44:33 AM »
So I have been posting ponies on Ebay, and I of course do a little side looking while I do  :shy:  Today I noticed a description for a pony lot with 'tons of fuzzies!'.  I immediately got this mental picture of ponies covered in fuzz or pom poms :P

As collectors we tend to have our own jargon and tend to use the terms the ponies were actually given by the company, but to people outside the community those terms aren't really known.  So I wondered, what hilarious or clever ways have you seen unusual ponies described?

I'm guessing they meant so soft ponies? Ha ha.

I have my own silly nicknames for some ponies. I call BBEs "Satan Babies" or "Devil babies." (No offense to any BBE fans out there.)

I like that one, Sapphire Rain!  I have to admit, I have one with rusty eyes and she is just...scary, even though I feel sorry for her  :lookround:

I've always dreamt of getting a rusty-eye'd BBE so I can justify painting "blood" running out of their eyes/mouth. :P

You should pop the eyes out and they're even scarier :yikes: They look souless and scary :faint:

That's funny about the fuzzies, hehe. I'm sure I've come across some weird names but can't think of any :P

When my daughters didn't know about ponies they used to call the newborns 'fat butt' ponies XD

Also when I came back from Ponycon our friend Kev said "how was the pink pony convention' :P

That ebay seller that lists the Pony Mania ponies as "sock fetish" ponies
I'm positive that's totally our fault because people on the arena were calling them that when they first popped up on taobao. I can't imagine that term came up elsewhere or they thought of it on their own.

Oh man, I STILL call the Ponymania set "sock fetish ponies!"
Or "Brony's delight." Pick your favorite.

Not from a listing but when my step-mother saw Teeny Tiny Whiskers she said: isn't it that "ponyta" thing?
And my most favourite: in Polish "pony=kucyk" but when they were first released in Poland people were not so good with English and they got named "kucyki pony" literally meaning "ponies pony" :P And this name has stuck to the toys till today :)

:O if by scarier you mean more awesome! XD

My hubby refers to so soft ponies as dusty ponies.

I think I probably get as many giggles out of some of these descriptions as people get giggles from me when I use "pony-lingo" in real life :P
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

It's actually awfully hard to talk about ponies in layman's terms nowadays.  :P

I just  when every single pony is listed as "rare HTF".
