Blue-striped Fifi variant?

So uh, I don't know if anyone here happened to be bidding on this, but I'd been watching all week and I kinda sorta won the auction.

There were several reasons why I wanted this lot- I see a bunch of ponies that I don't have yet, and despite being listed as bait, they really don't look too bad. What caught my eye though is that Fifi in the middle of the bottom row.

I've been looking for a Fifi anyway, but I wanted to ask about that blue stripe in her hair... has that ever been seen before? When the auction was first posted I did a quick search for "blue-haired Fifi" and "Fifi variants" but could find nothing. I'm really curious about her... so I thought I'd ask the experts!

Sorry if this has elements of overly bragging, but I'm just excited! Not just about Fifi, but a whole bunch of ponies that I've been after too.

Wow! I've never seen one like that before. Lets hope it's not a rehair or dyed.

It almost look like her hair was colored with a blue sharpie or something. because the blue part has a white patch at the roots (next to her ear in that picture). and also some of the white area looks like it was colored blue from the middle of the hair to the ends, but with the roots to the middle of the strand being left alone (to the right of her streak).. But its hard to tell from just the picture alone. Maybe once you get it in the mail you can take some pictures. I sorta have my doubts but if he really is a variant, she is really cool!

Yeah, I was kind of concerned thinking that it could be recolored or rehaired. It'll be a little disappointing if she turns out to be, but if not, it's not that big of a concern, since I can always just alternate rehair her.

Yup, as the color doesn't appear to go all the way to her roots I'd guess someone colored her hair. Still a nice lot

After looking really closely at her, she *seems* to have pink at the roots (where the blue doesn't touch.)  I'm not 100%, but I think her hair might have been colored.

I do agree she looks as though sharpie or something similar has been used on her hair - the colours a little too uneven and does not travel to the roots. But I really love her colours that way!

I'm a little sad... I didn't even notice the blank roots until they were pointed out. Here I was all excited to own a cool OOAK pony too!

But even if it is colored, I'm totally happy with that because I love flawed ponies made of kitschy "child art." I keep a Bowtie with pink highlighter makeup because she reminds me of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I love Rocky Horror ponies.

So no worries... she still has a place in my herd.

I do think her stripe looks coloured in. I'd definitely rehair her once she arrives home, though, because that blue stripe does look gorgeous (and would look even better without the roots  )

Nice find!  Even if she's maybe not factory-colored, I like her style!

Aw   I had a similarish experience where I spotted a very odd looking Medley on ebay with a cheap buy now. I took a punt on her, wondering if she might be a nirvana of some sort lol! Turns out it was just really funky lighting making her oddly coloured among other things, but I didn't worry too much - a long, curly haired Medley had been on my want list and aside from a few marks she cleaned up beautifully    It's lovely Fifi has a home with you and bonus that you also got some other ponies you were after!
