Has anyone brought the 'Firefly and Book' Set?
This one

Because I'm contemplating getting it because, you know Firefly! And of course I know it's  Remco style mold for the pony which doesn't bug me, I think it's rather cute but just generally what's the actual quality of the pony? Like plastic, hair etc

Yep- loads of people have bought it.  There is a super long thread with pictures somewhere (mostly ranting that the pony doesn't look like the pony pictured in the original marketing photos)

The quality of the pony is like fakie quality.  The tail is little punches of hair and not a single tail like the original ponies.  The feel of the hair is okay but doesn't feel like nylon to me.  The feel of the plastic is okay. The pony is really small.

The book is really nice- the pictures are original G1 art and are gorgeous :D

The pony is made of very squishy plastic.  The "book" has cardboard covers, so it's not anything super durable.  That said, it's still very cute.

The star comb is pretty cute :D  (even though it doesn't look like the original G1 star comb).

It's okay, but just okay.  If you can get it on sale or with a coupon or something it's worth a couple of bucks.  Mine was a gift so free is the right price!

Really cute but not much worth the price I bought one just to have for my firefly army, I don't know much about the old g3 blind bag ponies with the brushable hair but I think they seem similar

Quality is not a word I would use in the same sentence as this particular Firefly merchandise release, unless you're also using the words "absolutely no" right before "quality".  :)

I liked the book, thats about it. :/ The box was smashed in the mail, and firefly doesnt look quite like herself LOL. She definitly feels like a dollar store horse, really cheap and squishy and the hair feels weird. Still too pricey in my opinion even though the price is slashed.

I think its cute and collectible for collectors - because its cool to get some kind of retro merch and some kind of acknowledgement of original generations...even poor quality or over priced. But I would say dont spend more than £5 on it and be aware you are not buying something really worth £5 - its a fakie quality pony and a small book with copies of backcard art and some retro clip art. If you think too much on whether its worth the price you are paying or if its a quality product you are going to be disappointed. Best to try and appreciate it for what it is.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
