Megan's last name

yeah I knew Williams was her last name. (side note Barbie's last name is Roberts)  I think Megan was 10 when she first met Firefly - but the TV show was three years later so they aged her up a bit also to put a bit of age difference between her and her siblings.

I think Barbie's middle name is Millicent, which also weirds me out.

I would have said a bit older as well. She takes on a leadership role during disasterous events that an adult should be handling, LOL.

I would guess her age from 11-13. She dresses a bit babyish, though. Even as an 80s kid, I wasn't digging her silly outfit.

I remember thinking when I was little that it was weird that Megan who I thought was like 8 or 9 had small boobs. Lol still I was surprised by the age. 13 actually almost aims at that tween set like MLP and Monster High do today...makes me feel better about having liked MLP when I was 13 LOL

I had thought of something ironic originally and called her Megan Rider (and thought she would be 16).

I'm okay with Williams and her being 13.  It softens the blow of seeing around in that stupid outfit all the time.

I did think Megan was about 15 though, not 13, and Danny more like 12.

I like her name, an even number of syllables and its not too long! Could be worse, her name could be... Megan Blumpersteinmannybonjefferssonson... the Third?

I also feel Megan should have been older, due to all the situations she's been in and how maturely she's handled them.  That said, I'm in total agreement with that outfit comment!

I like that the kids were given a surname, even if it was not used or relevant within the show itself. 

Interesting discussion about Meg's age, though.  Given that every person matures at a different rate, I think her canon age of 13 is plausible.  She's good at analysis of larger connections, and is very methodical in her pursuit of solutions.  Those are personality traits that often show up quite early in a person's life - by 13 I'm sure they would be apparent in Megan's character!
